Obama gains in network polls

Contra the previous item, two other polls are showing the Wright flap doesn't seem to be doing major damage head-to-head national polling.

Quite the opposite:

Two network polls due out in the next hour or so, I'm told, actually have him moving up against Clinton.

He's moved ahead out of a tie in the last NBC poll, and gained in the CBS/NYT poll. Details on the evening news.

17. The Hillarites are convinced that their Queen can convince the rest of America...
To hate Barack Obama with the same passion that they do.

Newsflash, Hillarites: It ain't gonna happen. The people have spoken, and Barack Obama is their choice. All the whining and screaming and wailing in the world won't change that fact.

Barack Obama is going to be the nominee of the Democratic Party for the Office of the Presidency of the United States. Period.

21. Yeah, they was whoopin' it up bigtime last night.
So these polls will come out and one of two things will happen:

1) This board will be very, very quiet tonight, or

2) REZCOAYERSREZCOAYERSREZCO

Just an educated guess.

20. justed turned on Race to the White house
Apparently (according to David Gregory, who STRESSED this. So desperate), the numbers may not reflect the recent Wright flare ups. It's something like 46 to 43 , in Obama vs Clinton. I don't remember the exact numbers, but Obama is also higher up in the matchup against McCain than Clinton is.

And the poll also asked questions about "How concerned are you about Obama's "friends from his past", Wright and Ayers(!)". God, they are such assholes. 32% found it a MAJOR CONCERN. But the good news was that a higher percentage found McCain's relationship with Bush a MAJOR CONCERN. Haha. I hate how Pat calls Obama "this guy". "PEOPLE ARE NOT SURE WHO THIS GUY IS!"

27. More numbers for the NBC/WSJ poll
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 06:44 PM by ErinBerin84
Obama 46%
Hillary 43%

They also ask specific questions about concerns for each candidate. Funny, David Gregory made a point to mention the percentages of people who were "concerned" about Obama's "past relationships", and completely failed to mention that a higher percentage of people had specific concerns about issues relating to Hillary Clinton (in fact, he did not mention the Hillary specific questions at all. Funny how that works out).

* 36 percent have major concerns that Clinton seems to change her position on some issues (like driver's licenses for illegal immigrants and the North American Free Trade Agreement, which her husband signed but which she now opposes)
* 34 percent say they're bothered by Obama's "bitter" remarks

* 32 percent have a major problem with the Illinois senator's past associations with Wright and the 1960s radical William Ayers

* 27 percent have serious concerns that Bill Clinton would have too much influence on U.S. policy decisions if his wife is elected

http://tpmelectioncentral.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/04/poll_obama_edges_into_national.php

(the highest percentage is concerned about the McCain/Bush relationship! Haha. I don't have those specific numbers though, will try and get them so I can add to the post).
