Excerpts from Obama's first book will be the next punch from the right.
I've already heard it on some of the stations.

Prepare yourselves O supporters. It will tie him in nicely with Reverend Wright once again, especially now, since he has attempted to distance himself.

15. Big difference between then and now.
Then a lot of people viewed the Clintons are the victims.
Now - not so much.

Then alot of people would not belief the GOP attacks against the Clintons.
Now- many independents and EVEN Democrats would not even give the Clintons the benefit of the doubt.

23. You've got bigger things to worry about: OBAMA CORRUPTION BOMBSHELL
Edited on Thu May-01-08 06:05 AM by Perry Logan
"The major media organizations continue to ignore a story that is destined to become the biggest political scandal of the decade, except for a bleep here and there. By now this can only mean one of two things. They are either unwilling to commit the manpower necessary to connect the dots of all the subplots or they know the Republicans will supply the goods free of charge the minute Obama becomes the nominee.

"If Obama becomes the nominee, the Republicans will unleash a non-stop expose of Obama in the mainstream media that will make the swift boat attacks against John Kerry seem trivial. Only this time, they won't have to make lies because the truth will be on their side."

10. I know you're hopeful but there really isn't anything in "Dreams"
for them to use. This won't fly. Hell, even the Wright thing x2 hasn't destroyed him. He's got teflon. Hill doesn't. And something very significant happened yesterday that speaks to Obama's strength: Joe Andrew, former DNC Chair under Clinton and one of the first SDs to endorse Clinton, switched yesterday. He's from Indiana. He wrote a telling letter to other SDs. What does this say? It says that a savvy insider- and Clinton ally- thinks that Obama is not only the best candidate, but the future nominee.

14. Got email with excerpts
from SIL yesterday:

It will soon be time to vote in WV -- think it through and read the following please. The following excerpts are Obama's own words from his books. I DON'T want someone with this mind-set running our country, and I don't think you do either. cw

I have checked the accuracy of some of the following quotes -- I believe that they are all true -- BEWARE! CW

This guy wants to be our President and control our government. Pay close attention to the last comment!! Below are a few lines from Obama's books ' his words:

From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: ; 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela.'

From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

24. Yeah, and here's the whole context.
"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

and ASSUMING that the American people are stupid. That they can't get a copy of the book for themselves and check it out. Those quotes on their own so obviously lack context, and most are hardly offensive. They'd disturb those who wouldn't vote for Obama already, but mostly they'd just make the person touting them look desperate and grasping. I have no concern at all. None.

March 20, 2008 1:56 PM

ABC News' Eloise Harper Reports: Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign has strictly maintained a public position not to comment on Sen. Barack Obama's relationship with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Many times, questions have been answered with -- "you will have to ask Senator Obama about that."

However at a Thursday press availability in Terra Haute, Indiana after a report surfaced that the Clinton campaign was pushing the Wright story to superdelegates arguing that the relationship hurt Obama's electibility -– Clinton refused to deny that her campaign was pushing the story.

When asked, Clinton ignored the Wright portion of the question and said “well my campaign has been making the case that I am the most electable that I have said that for a year or more that I am the person best able to make the challenges that our country faces as commander in chief.”

When Clinton was then asked specifically if her campaign was pushing the Wright story –- she shrugged and took the next question, ignoring the reporter.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=5709367

In an interview with me this morning, senior Hillary adviser Harold Ickes confirmed that Reverend Jeremiah Wright is a key topic in discussions with uncommitted super-delegates over whether Obama is electable in a general election.

The comments from Ickes, who is Hillary's chief delegate hunter, are to my knowledge the first on-the-record confirmation from a Hillary adviser that the Wright controversy is a subject in conversations between the Hillary campaign and the super-delegates her advisers are trying to win over to Hillary's side.

Especially in some of the states that have yet to vote, the Wright affair “is a big vulnerability,” said Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, a Clinton superdelegate. And “all of this delegate stuff is artificial,”
