Hey, people!

I decided to take a breather from GDP and started browsing other forums here on DU. One of them was the http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=250">disability forum. While we are here arguing the merits of one candidate over another, there are real people in our midst suffering and wondering about what to do next.

So I urge you, let's use GDP not as an avenue to just discuss the horse race with the same breathless vapidity of MSM. Let's discuss real problems, and how specifically we will keep candidates accountable to make headway on these issues.

1. I've read headlines in passing that say that

Medicare and Medicaid are in trouble. My husband is on SSD, and has to wait a year to be able to get on Medicare. I'm hoping it will be there by then. Right now, his check is going towards his medical care, as neither of us have health insurance.
