Anyone interested in having MSNBC address the Pat Buchanan "Brief to Whitey" comment?
I am listening to Warren Ballentine. He obtained the telephone and fax numbers to MSNBC. What we should do is either call or fax a message stating our disapproval to MSNBC about the comments Pat Buchanan made in his "Brief to Whitey" editorial. Please, help get this out, because there is a huge double standard here! Rev Wright is constantly being paraded in front of the media for his comments, while Pat Buchanan's comments are flying under the radar.

Please support this cause.

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants.

4. Pat Buchanan is as nauseating to me as Carlson Tucker and
Joe Scarborough. Rachel Maddow and David Shuster are miles ahead of those hate spewing clowns.

8. Wow. Those are some pretty amazing claims on Pat's part.
However, while the remarks should be illuminated as a counterpoint to the fuss over Wright's statements, trying to silence Buchanan will just feed the Faux-news crowd's claim of being oppressed by "political correctness."

Perhaps we should encourage Olbermann or Abrams to challenge Buchanan on his statements.

9. I sent them more than one email on this back when it first surfaced.

I also called them. My husband faxed his comments.

In the end, m$nbcGE gave Pat more airtime. Suddenly he was on from sun-up to well past dusk.

My final email to m$nbcGE stated that the only show I'll watch is Countdown.

I've concluded that m$nbcGE agrees with Pat, otherwise they would have found themselves a conservative commentator who isn't openly racist and unapologetically proud of it.

I :applause: your efforts and hope you're successful in getting that racist scum off the air.

edited to add that I recommended the thread.

10. Sounds like the same sort of idiots who used to argue
that slavery was GOOd for black people, because they got taken care of.

That mentality was still alive and well in the south as recently as 1980. My husband and I bought a business in Missouri back in the early 80's which employed about ten African Americans (and about 20 caucasians). The previous proprietor had handled all the AA's finances for them, on the grounds that they couldn't handle their own. IOW, he held onto their paychecks and paid their monthly bills for them, all the while being considered a kindly employer. My husband and I were taken aback, to put it mildly. When we took over, that ended -- the AA's working for us got their paychecks to do with as they saw fit, and lawsamercy, they started paying their own bills. Quelle suprise, eh? Not only that, one was promoted to warehouse manager and one to sales -- rocked our community back on it's heels at the time.

Pat Buchanan is part of that strange old mentality -- this so-called "doing favors" for AA's is nothing but bullshit. Just like the old "taking care of the little woman" was bullshit. If you don't allow people to stand on their own feet, they're crippled. Most of us figured all this out in the 60's and 70's, but those of the Pat Buchanan ilk evidently never learned much from their life experience, just like some others we all know.

Did you even fucking read that racist piece of shit? Are you not aware that this bullshit is exactly how slaveowners justified themselves in public throughout the antebellum period?

That is fucked up. Really fucked up.

Because if he has, then I will agree with you.

Otherwise, STFU.
