Spike Lee and the Rev. Wright Conspiracy: "It looks like he's being paid to keep talking."
http://film.guardian.co.uk/news/story/0,,2277229,00.html

Director Spike Lee has waded into the ongoing controversy surrounding Jeremiah Wright, the Chicago pastor whose provocative statements have proved a thorn in the side of Democrat frontrunner Barack Obama. Lee advises the preacher to do the right thing and keep quiet. "The more he opens his mouth, the more damage he does," he told the Guardian yesterday.

For good measure, Lee hinted at a political conspiracy behind Wright's recent, contentious attempts to justify his remarks. "It looks like he's being paid to keep talking," he said.

---

"Jeremiah Wright needs to be quiet," Lee said yesterday. "If he loves Obama he needs to shut up right now. It makes me question his motives for talking. I'm starting to wonder whether somebody has been contributing to the building funds of his church. Seriously."

3. "If he loves Obama" ....
J. Wright loves himself and is scared of anyone that might shake his theological roots.

13. Yeah...he's not helping.
If Wright can be bought, then that makes him even worse than we thought...not just misguided but corrupt as well. Which means that Obama's judgement at having chosen this guy to be his minister for 20 years is even worse.

14. And, along those lines...
Hillary's choice of husband?

Lest you forget he gets paid for speaking engagements for questionable purposes as well. If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about, look up Frank Giustra.

As a Clinton supporter, you should hesitate when bringing up corruption.

10. I feel oddly compelled to say this
a few days ago anyone who suggested that Wright shut up, was accused by many of my fellow Obama supporters with great indignation, of wanting to force Wright to the back of the bus. I know. It was said to me. Will anyone suggest that's what Lee is saying?

11. That's a pretty serious charge. Wright should
come out immediately and refute it.

12. Bribe? That's inflammatory & libelous! Now a simple book deal, on the other hand....
Worth noting, Spike: Jeremiah Wright doesn't have a church. He's retired.

15. It's his right to talk... god!
I like Rev. Wright. I'd rather have him than some Graham whispering in the president's ear.

17. I honestly thought that Wright spoke out so Obama would have a...
reason to come out and kill the subject once and for all. The media is still trying but after hearing Obama speak about it this last time, I don't see how people will have it as an issue.
