Edited on Thu May-01-08 05:04 PM by SoCalDem
he actually thinks he's "on the left"??

Can you even imagine how this whole primary season would have progressed if CNN & MSNBC were actually ON THE LEFT??

no Buchanan
no Barnicle
no Scarborough
no Dobbs
no Blitzer
no Noonan
no Smerconish
no Beck
no Bennett
no Tucker Carlson
no snooty newsettes giggling through inane questions
.....

If they had Phil Donahue
Ariana Huffington
Eric Alterman
Amy Goodman
a little Michael Moore
some Chomsky
some Zinn
Glenn Greenwald

a very prescient video:

23. I thought he said "like me on the right" not "only on the right." Took me aback>>>
He also said he wants Hillary to win because he thinks she'll give him more advantages for reporting stories. He's certainly been promoting Hillary. If that's his motivation, that's at least as bad if not worse than Rush's Operation Chaos.

5. Chris is center-left
So his statement is true.

Olbermann is mondo-left though, in the context of demonizing right wingers like Hannity, Bortz, Beck, Rove and co.
There's only room for one Olbermann on the big 3 cable networks.

7. If Tweety is on the left -- then I'm Mao Tse Fucking Tung
None of those bastards are on the left. At best, KO is in the center. The others range from moderate right to batshit crazy right, heavily weighted toward the batshit crazy end of the spectrum.

14. Tweety's on the Right.
Almost everyone on television is, so I understand that this can be confusing--but he speaks only for the status quo, a profoundly conservative state of affairs, and has never championed any liberal causes I know of. He's there to make money, and to support those who do--period.

6. I once had a wingnut English teacher who thought Tweety was on the left.
First day of class she said something like the right had Rush Limbaugh and the left had Tweety. I dropped her class and ended up taking the same class from a teacher who turned out to be a DUer, so it worked out well. :)

he has an ego bigger than the size of texas, and I cannot see him willingly giving up a well-paying gig, to have himself trashed in public..day after day..and I don't think he'd even win

13. I said that just the other day - Do we have to get our own TV station for the truth - Please read.
My email to Ed Schultz about David Gregory Race for the White House Show:

I saw you on Race for the White House last night with Gregory and all I heard before I finally turned it was about Rev. Wright for almost 20 minutes! I am so sick of not getting the REAL issues out there for us to talk about as I know most if not all the people who really care do too!

Anyway this is something they should have been talking about in my estimation:

Earlier in the day Sen. Obama was talking to a small group of people and a young lady said she was a Reservist and had fought in the Middle East, and her husband was on his way to Germany to be deployed there again. She said that she had a cohort in the Reserves who had come to her in tears a few days ago, and told her that his family could not get the health care they needed now that he was back in the US! He said it would be better if was in Iraq again!

Sen. Obama said that he agreed that there is a huge problem in this area with the Reservists and the Guard and said that if our country was going to continue to use them as "regular" Army/Navy/Marines with constant deployments one right after another then they should get the same benefits as "regular" solders do! I support that 100%! He should make an ad with that in it! I think our heroes of the guard and reserves, which 2 of my sons are, should be commended and helped along instead of handing out millions of dollars to the Iraqi shills and thieve like KBR and Halliburton!!!

.........

Do you think there are enough of us to get our own TV station going? I think CSPAN was suppose to be one but it has both sides on it and LINK too but it doesn't really keep with the issues here in the US enough.

19. Odd, random story...
I was cooking and listening to Sirius, but it kept cutting out (very cloudy) so I switched to the local talk radio. Smerconish was in for O'Reilly last night and he had some knuckledragger caller asking why CAN'T we say Obama's middle name? Smerconish kind of shocked me (I have never heard him before by the way) by telling her that he thinks it's a cheap shot because, #1, we don't go around saying John Sidney McCain... and #2, the purpose of saying his middle name, and let's not fool ourselves, is to somehow validate an urban myth that he's a "secret Muslim" when he really is not. He actually smacked this woman down, much to my surprise. Now, I don't know anything else about him and I wouldn't be surprised if any other topic might have driven me mad, but that was nice to hear from what would normally be a radio show I'd yell at. Credit where it's due. :)

Oh, and the woman's defense is that we do say Hillary Rodham Clinton. As if that's her middle name. :freak:

26. He didn't use to? I remember him from way back and he was way against her....
He wasn't nice to her until she came on his program for an interview. But, he really was against her (I'm talking back when Imus was still on). I know because at the time I was angry at him for not wanting a Democrat. That is before Barack made his mark.

He really was against her....

27. Seems like they all got the memo about the same time.>>
I don't remember exactly when you're talking about, but I do remember in the beginning, yes, he and most of the others were all pulling for Obama, admittedly giving him pretty much a free ride, building him up, but only for the kill! Then Hillary got pissed and complained, and all of a sudden, that was it. There was no more giving Obama any ground about anything by any of them. Every news show was, what will Hillary have to do to catch up. All these distractions have been media driven, just like the Dean Scream. It seems like Chris gets worse about it the longer this goes on.
He also made the comment, I think yesterday -- somebody on his panel said something negative about Hillary and McCain, and Chris said, "Yeah, there are three rings in this circus. And we have been pretty much just paying attention to one of them" -- some paraphrase similar to that.
He also said on Dan Abrams' show the night about the Wright story, after Obama made his press conference -- Dan asked him, would it affect Tuesday's primaries. He said, "if we lay off the story Thurs and Fri, then probably not. But if the story continues, then yes, it will hurt him." Dan said, "Well, then, will you continue the story?" "Yes," Chris says. "He still has some explaining to do" -- again, big paraphrase. And he has continued on and on. He's for Hillary.

24. Exactly...
I can't even watch for more than a few minutes unless someone posts a clip. They ask the same questions over and over and then they ask each other what is Obama or Hillary thinking about a particular non issue.

Then Tweety precedes to tell us how to think about it, and they get me with this Timmy shit when talking about Russert, like he is some big kid. They have all fed him the questions for Obama for his meet the press interview. By the way, has Dobbs been wearing that flagpin all the time, I know I have seen it before but lately it stands out more because he is full of shit trying to pretend that he is a populist this asshole is a RepubliCON just like Hillary and McCain...

He and hillary's gang sit there and discuss everything that is wrong with Obama and then he sits a black reporter in the middle and tries to make him defend Obama so they can all jump in but the reporter never takes the bait. I have noticed this lately with David Gregory today it was four against one including Gregory. I switched over to the BBC news ...
