You've got to be kidding me!!? Now Obama is seeking counsel from Father Pfleger!??!
Does Obama really want to run on his judgment?

Chicagoans Who Know Both Men Tell The Story Of Betrayal; Controversy Continues On Despite Obama's Best Attempt To Cut It Off

CBS 2 Chief Correspondent Jay Levine reports Obama felt betrayed and Wright felt sand-bagged. Father Michael Pfleger of St. Sabina Church said he has been speaking to both men as the events of the past 24 hours unfolded.

He counseled Obama Tuesday morning, and while CBS 2 talked to him Tuesday evening, Rev. Wright called his cell phone.

"I don't think he had any intention to hurt Barack. He loves Barack," Pfleger said. "I think the pain and the moment took over."

That moment was in a place Pfleger called "a lion's den" – The National Press Club. http://cbs2chicago.com/politics/obama.jeremiah.wright.2.711811.html

"The people who were close to him pleaded with him not to do it," said WVON radio host Roland Martin. "We knew what the questions were gonna be, but it really was the antics, the looks the dismissive tone, the strut. It was being flippant, some say being pompous and arrogant."

That appearance Monday was far from a pastor's comfort zone, like St. Sabina on the South Side, the site of Wright's first appearance after his words drove a wedge between him and Obama.

Fr. Pfleger says Wright's first instinct Monday was to defend his reputation.

"Sometimes you get caught up in the emotional response because you're hurt, because you're injured," Pfleger said.

Mayor Richard M. Daley called the current flap a dangerous distraction.

38. Every time there is a Wright thread, some Obama supporter brings up Coe in
super dramatic, Alex Jones style fashion. "Coe wants a world government based on God" "What about Coe? His "Fellowship" is very secretive and they plan things behind closed doors"

"Coe wants to inject his beliefs into our Guv't" "Hillary and Coe are plotting a religious takeover of the Executive branch"

Then when I ask what he is pushing I get a position that is not at all controversial in American politics, and is not surprising coming from a religious man.

The whisper campaign has nothing to it.

14. ..
In February 2003, Pfleger generated controversy by inviting Al Sharpton to speak at a mass during Black History Month celebrations. Cardinal George disapproved of Sharpton's appearance, due to Sharpton's support of abortion rights. Sharpton was also a presidential candidate at the time, and archdiocese officials were concerned that having a political candidate speak in church would cause them to lose their tax-exempt status. However, Cardinal George decided that trying to stop Sharpton from coming "would be a futile gesture and a waste of effort".<15>

In May 2007, Pfleger received criticism for his comments at a Rainbow/PUSH Coalition protest outside a suburban Chicago gun shop. According to the Americans for Gun Safety Foundation, the store, Chuck's Gun Shop, had sold over 2,000 weapons that were traced to crimes committed between 1996 and 2004. It had been a longtime target of protests by Pfleger and Jesse Jackson.<16> Addressing the owner of the shop, Pfleger announced, "We're going to find you and snuff you out. Like a rat you're going to hide. But like a rat, we're going to catch you and pull you out." Cardinal George rebuked Pfleger, saying, "Publicly delivering a threat against anyone's life betrays the civil order and is morally outrageous, especially if this threat came from a priest." Pfleger responded that he did not intend to use the word "snuff" as a slang term for "kill", but rather as a substitute for "pull", as he used later in his statement. <17>

Of his disagreements with Cardinal George, Pfleger once said, "I can only assume the Cardinal sees my style of ministry to be something he doesn't agree with. In that sense, he sees me as a thorn. That's what I'm left to feel like. I don't revel in that. In fact, it's very difficult. It's a very difficult feeling on the fringe, getting public reprimands, public criticisms. I don't enjoy that at all. my focus right now is to try to continue building up the church. A lot of what we do is out of the ordinary. That kind of puzzles me. It's not the church I grew up in. The church then was very involved in justice and civil rights issues."<18>

Min. Louis Farrakhan visits Father Michael Pfleger and St. Sabina
http://dallassouthblog.com/2007/05/30/min-louis-farrakhan-visits-father-michael-pfleger-and-st-sabina/
Last week the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan spoke at The Faith Community of St. Sabina, which is pastored by Father Michael Pfleger. The May 25 speech was Min. Farrakhan's first time speaking publicly since Mother's Day.

See Chicago Sun-Times coverage here.

See CBS 2 Chicago coverage with video here .

This was great to see because it brought two of my favorite people together. Minister Farrakhan who was on his death bed from cancer last year, reportedly spoke for an hour at St. Sabina and in a powerful way. Pfleger spent many hours with Min. Farrakhan during his illness.

Father Pfleger and Min. Farrakhan have shared an long friendship as they both have labored to uplift the African-American community in Chicago and throughout the country. Anyone who actually listens to the Minister as opposed to relying on sound bites knows that if his heart has any hatred, it's a hatred of evil and injustice. The Muslim minister and Catholic priest know that what matters most is doing God's work, especially for the least of these, my brethren.

See Dallas South coverage of Father Pleger's Dallas visit here .

Obama doesn't get it
Hillary does
Get it right
Hillary for president

Look ah, on the subject of the country falling back backwords ,a early quote from Hillary ,the fear of everything tail spinning.
Well to barrow a quote from the late Johnney Carson show ,here ss sssssss Obama.

The Kennedy,s have always been masters of political deception, this is not a low ball shot at them ,they are for the people, but ,they are high stakes players and play to win by all means. And that means they lie. All politicans lie. Writers lie too but that's ok because of a thing called literary license. The license is why lying politicans write books,it seem,s to the politican it grants them a clear conscience. But it cannot and it will not.Only a writer can lie in order to tell the truth! And Obama is no writer!

Now on a different post I clearly made the connection that Obama is not like J.F.K. J.F.K. was a good lier and therefore a good writer! Only a writer with a accute sense of humor can possibly understand that!

But J.F.K. had sense enough to keep religion out of his politics. In fact he was billed in the bill of goods as not being very much on religion. And yet he had lunch with the Arch Bishop! How about it though, when you know you don,t lie!Have a little lunch, sip some tea! Do a little fact finding, writers do tend to become curious! Oh yes address the crowd ,see what they will catch on to!All those people out there ,indeed, life on the other side of the wall!

Indeed, reclusive the life of a writer can be!Get out there, see what life is like on the other side!

Obama is more like some of Kerry and some of Nixon influence. Not at all like J.F.K.

And Bad bad Leroy Brown, he wasn,t all bad, believe it or not he had a profound respect for those who bring words down to form statements that are completely original,he even feared some, although never would he admitt it.At times the badd, est dude on the block got to beliving that the world is full of phoneys, you know,it's all been said and done befor! It can seem so sometimes! When it's all about duplication ,it can only lead to distruction really.

Who do you think really brought it on?

83. That's because he's NOT a pastor who has preached hate and bigotry for the past 20 years. Duh.
And he wouldn't have such a large church attendance with so many regulars who say such positive things about him. If Obama had been "in the pews" during any of his "anti-American" sermons, it would've been proven by now. A RW website claimed they had proof that he WAS in attendance during one of those sermons, and they were proven wrong. And don't think Hillary's people didn't try to find the same thing to try to catch him in a "lie."

84. I agree it's really sad what Obama did to the man who , on his knees with Barack and Michelle,
prayed with them the day he announced his run for President. This man who has a lifetime of work ministering to the needy, the man who led Obama to the Kingdom of

the Lord, the man who, with tender care, married Barack and Michelle, baptized their 2 young children and blessed the loving home where they will raise them.

This man who on the verge of retirement from a life devoted to the work of God, has his reputation and church trashed in front of the whole world for the selfish

desires of Obama. Truly tragic, almost Shakespearean.

If he didn't know the views of his pastor, views that he is not shy about sharing in any situation, he's pretty stupid.

If he did know, he's a liar. Which is it?

93. There's no proof he was there for ANY really controversial sermons. It would've come out if there
was. Wright is NOT a racist. He's for equality, his last sermon being, "Different Not Deficient." He's for gay marriage. If he was extreme in ANY way, he wouldn't be a popular pastor and the Clintons wouldn't have had him in the WH.

Edited on Thu May-01-08 05:38 PM by ProSense
Will black voters stay home if Obama loses nomination?

They know an ambush when they see one. Hillary is trying to win by alienating black voters. The Republicans are all to happy to help Hillary to alienate the black vote because once that happens Republicans win.

Good luck with that.

Obama will be the nominee, and he will get the vote of white Democrats and Independents.

Poll: Hillary gets the white vote in a landslide. Obama still leads and does better against McCain

Time to alert the superdelegates: The spin is BS and Hillary is still losing and apparently white voters can't help her.

53. obama sat on his ass for 16 years while this pastor spewed this
bigotry and racism out to the adults as well as children. How many children have been affected and believe the white person is the devil? How many young people believe that america caused blacks to get AIDS? How many young people believe that a Jew is of no account? How many children believe that america caused 9 11? This is something to think about.

Yes all that was going on and barack and michelle sat on their asses in that church for 16 years or however long michelle has been a member and did not stand up and say this was WRONG. obama should be ashamed of himself for allowing his daughters to hear this filth but I assume it was okay they did from the parents viewpoint.

obama should excuse himself from this campaign now because he is not worthy of any nomination.

I doubt 3/4 of the general public will ever hear Pfleger's name... I don't think it will be an issue. Plus, why is venting and expressing frustration to a pastor, any pastor, a bad thing? Obama was obviously very hurt by Wright's actions on Monday... do you expect him to just up and forget Wright and move on like nothing happened?
