'I am delighted to be the Senator from Punjab.'
Can you imagine if Obama took a trip overseas, say to Indonesia, to promote outsourcing and while there said something like 'I am delighted to be the Senator from Jakarta?'

You know Hillary and McSame would be all over it, it would have destroyed Obama's campaign before Super Tuesday and Hillary would be the nominee right now.

But Hillary does the same thing and she gets away with it scot free. That's because Obama never wants to make an issue of it. Like Kerry and Gore, he enjoys being on the receiving end rather than the giving. But its a perfectly legitimate issue, not a manufactured smear, so why doesn't he take advantage of it? Is he some kind of sado-masochist, or is his campaign simply incompetent?

Kerry, Gore, Obama

7. The fact he doesn't use it
against his opponent indicates that he agrees with it.

That is, Obama has nothing against shipping more American high-tech jobs to India.

8. Really?
So the fact that he didn't use Clinton's Bosnia lie against her means he's for fabricating stories? It must be a fascinating tour through that space you call a brain!

10. Bad comparison

the sniper story is a stupid tabloid-type story, I can see why it would be beneath him to try to use it. plus its over a decade old.

The comment Hillary made in India is relatively recent, and a very legitimate one that relates directly to very important issues, jobs and the economy.

11. Ah, see, it wasn't a comparison it was a parallel construction of your logic
And yet you can see why it would be beneath him to try and use it. The age of events is irrelevant. The construction of a sound logical arguement is timeless.

13. The sniper story is not a decade old and is not tabloid fodder.
She told the lie over and over during February and March of this year. A candidate's character and integrity is not simply "tabloid fodder."

9. true, but he could still use it
it would be hypocritical, but most of both candidates' anti-trade rhetoric is hypocritical already

14. My cousin, who is a BIG Democrat, works for an American based computer security company,
He just coordinated a deal between this American based Company, the Japanese, and the Indians. It was a major PIA from what I understand. Regardless, he's a Democrat (he absolutely loathes George Bush) who trained Indians to work for the Japanese for an American corporation. He made a lot of money doing it to. Not all Democrats perceive these things equally.

16. I know an American
who trains software engineers in New Delhi. He says the Indians tend to be good at theory but not very good at handling the practical and creative aspects of it. the quality of the work leaves something to be desired but tolerated because of the cheap labor. These kind of stories are becoming more common everyday, while more qualified American engineers go without work in the Silicon Valley. Thanks to Clinton and Bush!
