Obama, speaking later at Charlotte's Cricket Arena, dismissed the plan.

"This is a political gimmick," he told a boisterous rally of about 7,500. "It is not designed ... to lower gas prices. It's designed to get somebody through the election."

The proposed tax holiday has emerged as one of the sharpest differences between the candidates as they head toward Tuesday's primaries in North Carolina and Indiana.

And the media appears to be talking about actual issues that matter again, which is gratifying and should begin moving poll numbers in the right direction.

Really though... that's pretty cool.

I rarely care much for 'celebrity status'. I tend to think of people as 'just people'. But a very few people transcend that for me. Peter Gabriel was one of them, and getting to run my hands through his hair when he dove onto the audience was neat even if I felt a little silly about it.
