Michelle Obama in Asheville! I Think I'm in Love.

What a woman! She is a great speaker, knows how to connect to the audience and can get some laughs, too.

I saw Michelle at UNCA, in Asheville this afternoon. I was lucky enough to score a seated ticket. I sat fourth from the podium. Michelle energized and inspired. Her life story, woven with Obama's was one that many in America can relate to. She stressed education, and afford-ability of quality education, the need to strengthen public schooling for ALL children.

She gave her synopsis of the Primary, and reminded us all that Obama was never expected to do what he has done. She cut through all the spin and laid out how Obama brings voters across the spectrum, winning in states as diverse as Illinois, SC, Alaska, Washington, Hawaii, Idaho, and on and on.

The wind was blowing and she had to hold her dress down. In a very funny, and well handled moment she said she didn't want to flash anybody, and that she caught it. She said, "I'm not going to end up on Youtube." It was quite funny.

The crowd was energized and simultaneously moved to tears. With eloquence she brought us into the campaign, stressing the grassroots, bottom-up approach of Obama.

Someone from the crowd behind her yelled, "Michelle for VP!!!" The crowd cheered. Michelle smiled and said, "He is behind me and the wind is blowing up my dress, he may be biased. He's getting a little more leg than those in front." She is quick witted, poised and intelligent.

I left thinking I had heard our next First Lady, and one I could be very proud of. I also left with her autograph. :)

She's amazing. She's beautiful. She's real. She's accomplished.

This country needs her, our daughters need her.

I love her too and her sense of humor. I don't know who the people are in this country that don't understand teasing a spouse, or any of the other things she's laughed about. And that dress story, just priceless. I hope there's a youtube, I'd love to see that. I hope to see her in Oregon soon!
