A family divided over the candidates reunited, politically, again
Had a conversation yesterday with a 60 year old woman, she and her husband are Hillary supporters. Their son, 33 and his wife, supported Obama, he and his friends all wanted the 'new politics' Obama seemed to offer. They are all professionals, both generations, the parents: teacher and architect, the son is a dentist.

The political conversations in the family were very heated, finally it was off limits. No more conversations.

She said her son called her last week and said, Mom this Obama is really a creep, now that I see who is I don't want him anywhere near the White House. Being the typical mom, she responded, I told you so!

The young man and his friends were very disappointed to see they had so easily been duped, they fancied themselves as well educated and a good judge of character.

It was the comments made in San Francisco that really opened their eyes, and they saw where his view were formed listening to Wright's road show. They realized how deep an influence he has been on Obama.

This family has lived all across this country, from several states in the south, Arizona and now California.

They have a 29 yr old daughter who never was swayed by Obama. She is an artist in San Diego.

The family all agrees again politically again, they will vote for Hillary or McCain, in that order, depending who is on the ballot.

What this tells me is that Obama has so divided the dem party, it looks like McCain will have the easiest run to the White House ever.
The dem party has indeed created an presidential primary and election for the history books!

1. Obama is NOT dividing the Democratic Party. Obama IS the Democratic Party
Hillary supporters are dividing the Party for their own selfish gain.
Hillary has lost. Hillary supporters need to face the fact Obama will be the next President, and then they need to support him.
If Hillary supporters are so stupid they think she can still win without cheating, then we don't need them around anyhow.

34. That is a VERY scary header
The rest of the poster is just silly but your header would be alarming if I did not see that it's just shriek and swoon talk.
The state = c'est moi

2. People are waking up from their Hopium stupor and discovering
that BO is a Fraud

We surely don't need a stuttering yammering "guest lecturer" with such a thin resume

3. particularly heartened to see the young professionals see him as a fraud
and realize a practiced speech does not a president make. Obama can barely have a conversation, it is in slomo when he does.

Of hundreds of stories just like this one, but with the one side changing their mind for Obama, and saying what a terrible candidate Hillary is! I take them all with a grain of salt!

5. roflmao.
how pathetic is this. I could write a hundred different stories about how people now dislike your girl. Suddenly DU is a creative writing class and anecdotal evidence means something.

Not.

But given the current state of Hillarys epic failure, the Clintonists will cling to this like its gods word.

Funny shit.

22. Can anyone count the number of posts here that told stories of their families
or conversations saying how they have changed from Hillary to Obama? I don't have enough fingers and toes. Not once did I hear someone say, "Ahh shucks...it's all made up or anecdotal." Those that see others as liars are just projecting. That tells me a lot.

And the Mom said, see Chip, this old gal still knows a thing or two. Now, who wants some pot roast? Bud, how about you? And I made some of my famous blueberry pie for dessert. Dad will be home soon. Oh and I just heard from your artist sister in San Diego, she's going to a Hillary rally tonight. Not one of those big rallies mind you.

So it makes you happy that Mcain would be getting Democratic votes in the election, I'm for Obama but if anybody told me that they would vote for Mcsame over Clinton I wouldn't find any joy in that.

17. Yesterday while we were out exercising our unicorns...
my neighbor told me that he had been a Clinton supporter, but after all of her recent pandering, he was going to switch his vote to Obama or McCain. Upon hearing this news, I extended my hand and he shook it with one of his tentacles. But I did warn him that if he did voted McCain, I would have to obliterate him with my death ray. We had a good laugh, put our unicorns away in the crystal stable, and flew around the neigborhood with our anti-gravity belts for awhile. Good times!

I tell ya, if the price goes up any more, I'm gonna have to go back to feeding them Martians and goblin hair!

26. I'm not outraged, they're worth every penny.
They're a little spoiled, but who cares - last night one flew me to Boston to visit my brother, an ex-Hillary supporter who has come to his senses - we then flew on to California to see my other brother (another ex-Hil supporter). Seeing the joy in their faces, as we ended our estrangement, was so worth the price of the unicorn food.

They helped bring the family together again, and that, of course, is priceless!

Martians and goblin hair have gone up a lot too - I say fly your unicorn to relatives houses and let them graze on their lawns like I do.

24. My son and his wife use to support Clinton. Now they support Obama
Edited on Sat May-03-08 05:24 PM by Hansel
They watch cable news and thought he was too slick until they took some time to listen to him and did a little research. They use to think that Clinton was great until they really started listening to her. Her lying about the Bosnia sniper incident and the race baiting from her campaign did her in with them.

So I guess we cancel that family out.

37. With my family, it was "Reagan was the only one with ideas"
My father HATES this guy now. He has both copies of barack's books, oddly enough authored in some odd homage to a man who deserted him and to another whom he claims he never really knew. Now, Dad could care less about this 'story'. "He's a fake". my Dad tells me, "and I'd raher vote for a maverick than a fake". What can I say?
