Here's why my state is cooler than yours (dial-up warning)
For those from lesser states :P I thought I'd show you how vote by mail works (if it hasn't been posted too many times here before). I understand that voting booths have a certain nostalgic appeal, but it just seems like vote by mail eliminates so many of the problems with voting in person: voter intimidation, 4 hour lines, $4.00 gas, broken machines, blizzards, going to the wrong location to vote, voting while sick, Et cetera...

Some will say that they want to be sure their vote gets into the box (or into the Diebold machine), but let's face it, the US Postal Service has as near to 100% effectiveness as matters.

Voter's Pamphlet came a few days back, but these two pieces came together yesterday.

Sit back, crack open a beer, take your time, and fill it out in the comfort of your own home.

Put the completed ballot in the security envelope, then the mailing envelope, but don't forget to sign it!

Off it goes...

1. I thought you would be showing photos of the blizzard
that hit the Dakotas and Colorado earlier this week.....

I do agree that mailing in the vote is a good idea. But the way they lose mail around here, I can't help but be concerned about mail tampering with the ballots. Any way you can be sure your vote counted?

2. No guarantees, but is lost mail a real problem?
Years back I did the payroll for a company and mailed out 150 checks every week. They NEVER got lost. Since all these ballots are in the system for a few weeks, I'm sure the post office has no problem getting them to the destination.

4. Yes, lost mail is a real problem here
Hey, it takes a minimum of three days for Express Mail to get here--no joke! We make sure that whatever can be automatically deposited or debited is, just because the mails are so unreliable.

6. You have to sign your name. Like at the voting booth.
What ELSE is dumb about it?
