Obama: 285 delegates to go until he's the presumptive nominee
If you go over to DailyKos, they now have a delegate tracker which shows how many delegates are needed to reach the magic number of 2024. Both candidates are getting delegates (super and pledged) that trickle in, but I think it is much clearer in showing how hopeless it is for the Clinton campaign to win. Look at it now:

http://www.dailykos.com/

The Magic Number (2,024 delegates needed)
Barack Obama 1,739 285
Hillary Clinton 1,608 416

It's kind of cool, because it is updated throughout the day, as quickly as new info comes in. I would suggest everyone keep their eye on the ball: the delegate count. Frankly, I am tired of all the spin. The truth is Obama is getting closer and closer to the nomination and is well positioned to win the General Election. Don't forget that McCain has only one place to go: down.

2. With the proportional system, it actually is not that close.
Hillary did not have a blowout victory in PA. She needed one to make up for her deficit, and she didn't get one. Think about the net victory for them in these primaries -- not much.

5. She could win 64% of the vote in the states left
And they could split the SUPERS and he would still win by 2. Its trickling in but its like deficit spending the pool of money is shrinking. (for her)

7. Thank you if you want detailed information I recommend demconwatch
(they are active DUers)

because they have stringent criteria that is objectively applied and you can go back and look at every cited SD for example

Obama only needs 137 pledged delegates and he will have won the majority of pledged delegates and win the Pelosi Club endorsers

(also on demconWatch

8. That's where DailyKos is getting their numbers from. Good to hear
that it is so reputable. I figured as much; otherwise, it wouldn't be featured at the top left hand corner.

12. there is a little time lag between the numbers
for example on Monday there will be 3 SDs added on in IL and we already know who they are and they all endorse Obama.

In order to reduce confusion DemconWatch is helpful because they give you links to every single SD endorsement.

13. I prefer DemconWatch at this point, because it is well respected & neutral.
I am cool with a time lag as these delegates become official.
