Democrat Cazayoux wins LA Congressional seat
Edited on Sun May-04-08 02:24 AM by anigbrowl
didn't see this on the page here...looks like the GOP attacks on Cazayoux linking him to Obama didn't hurt too much. Democrats gain a seat in Congress that has been Republican since 1974. Cazayouz won 49-46%, with three independents dividing the other 5% of the vote.

Sweet!

4. A couple things I found about this race to put a smile on everyone's face
1. The GOP is spending nearly $440,000 and Freedom's Watch is spending $126,000 in Louisiana's 6th District.

2. The National Republican Congressional Committee, the branch of the national party that assists GOP candidates, has linked Childers and Cazayoux to Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. In Louisiana, the party's ad says Obama and Pelosi represent "a radical agenda, very different from Louisiana's values."

They spent all that cash and it has zero affect.
Now, the DCCC outspent the the rccc in this contest. But, it's still a seat we took.

The next race to watch will be MS-1 and Travis Childers on May 13.

One more thing...If the republikkans think that Obama is a more a liabilty to Democrats in LA and MS than Clinton, they are in for a real world of hurt come November (no matter who our nominee is)
