50. I thought he was better at the end
I am a total fan and supporter of Obama, but I think Russert got him talking far too long on Reverend Wright. I would like Obama to finally say to the Russerts of the world, maybe even thrown down the gauntlet, that it is time to talk about issues and not waste so much time on someone that Obama has been clear he totally disagrees with on everything and has made a clear break from. The media needs to step up to the plate. Call this part two of the reaction to the ABC debate. People are sick and tired of Rev Wright and want to hear about issues. When Obama talks about Rev Wright, no matter how clear he is, he is on the defense, and it is not where he wants to be. I would like to see Obama be more assertive about this. It would also go along way in changing the "not tough enough" narrative that opponents are pushing.

...he seemed intelligent, reasonable, affable...I would have no problem with him as my President. I also think he can finally respond to any future question about Rev. Wright with a friendly "I already answered that on Meet the Press".

32. I saw the last 40 min or so , have that part recorded and keep
going over the expression on Tim's face at the very end. He looked like he was a little confused , that he expected to get a game changing moment or something , but Obama was up to the task. Maybe I'm just hoping that to be the case????

But one thing is for sure he did look Presidential.

As long as Obama is being himself and telling it like he sees it, he can do no wrong. It's candidates who pander, lie, and triangulate, who get into trouble.

42. Home run.
His response to the gax tax question was great. He made Hillary's plan seem like nothing more than a pandering gimmick, which is exactly what it is.

He was very steady, thoughtful and knowledgeable. Basically the type of person you'd want in the White House during a crisis.

49. When Russert tried to play "gotcha" saying he voted for the gas tax suspension in IL, he answered
perfectly and quickly-that yes, he DID, and that's when he saw it didn't work, so he learned from his mistake which is why he's against it now. I remember a Hillary surrogate say Obama was "for it before he was against it." Typical RW BS.

I was glad to see there was none of the stuttering and "uh"ing and long pauses that have driven me up a wall in the past when listening to him speak.

I also liked what he had to say about Iran, and how he took a good swipe at "cowboy diplomacy"; lumping Clinton in with Bush -- and rightly so.

I had the TV on to watch it, but I was doing some work at the same time. I got engrossed in the work and next thing I knew it was over.

But from the snippets I did catch, he sounded real good.

It seems like Timmy was on his best behavior today too, once they got past Rev., Wright.
