1. I guess it depends on your perspective
he says nothing and gets away with it. No follow ups. No confrontation on his lies. No questioining his vague responses about "Change." One hour long commercial with no substance.

While Clinton is attacked and vilifed by the boys in the press.

6. You're kidding, right. Man, he just tied together all of it. How
food, energy, environment and jobs all fit together! How
it is all inter-related.

When have you ever heard that? It's called leadership. Everyone
else is reactive and just takes a singular viewpoint - not understanding or
addressing any overall interrealtionships.

This man is definitely a visionary - if you want narrow, parochial
thinking with no proactive leadership - just vote for Clinton or
McPain !

Why don't you go edit the Harvard review and then author a couple books - without ghostwriters - and then come back and tell us all about his 'handlers'

Too bad the japery around here is little more than regurgitated swill from past threads, anymore.

Not an original criticism or thought in the bunch. In the software racket this is called astroturfing.

Get a bunch of second raters and show them how to flood boards like these with shitty little barbs.

Profit!

50. Watched the show and don't know where he was lying?
He was discussing how he thought things should be handled in the middle east and in particular Iran. He gave his opinion of Hillary's ME umbrella theory/plan. He felt it important to work with Iran and other ME countries to try to avoid the need to attack another country, again. He said all options are always on the table for a U.S. President but that there were many other options one should diligently pursue before even going in that direction. Damn, we need diplomacy, talks and bargaining with other ME countries before getting rabid about nuking Iran!

Our next president hopefully will not be a strong arm person like George. You can see where bullying gets a country that doesn't stop and think long and hard before attacking a country that hasn't attacked ours. Iran is no doubt providing Iraq with weapons, etc. to the Shiite. How about considering how the Sunni countries are also putting their 2 cents (billions?) into Iraq to help their buddies (Sunnis).

Please explain Obama's lies. His opinion is one thing, lies is another.

She promised Buffalo new jobs and they lost jobs. She worked on
health care and couldn't get that done.

I truly think that she might have good ideas - but - she is so
polarizing that she is the one you would have to question
on delivering promises.

45. There was a quote on here yesterday from
a person from Guam who knows all about hilary's broken promises..

"Guam voter: "She (Clinton) comes back to us asking us for support. I think that's unconscionable"]/b]

"I can't see myself supporting Hillary," she said. "My reason is that she was out here in 1995 -- President Clinton in '98 -- and they both made promises that they didn't act on. She dares to make those same promises and comes back to us asking us for support. I think that's unconscionable."

46. Don't You Get It Yet?
We are his back up. "We the People".

"We the People" have always had all the power, we've just
been lacking a leader, a Community Organizer in Chief, to call on us to use it.

Community Organizers (which is where Obamas roots are) don't do the majority of the work.
They participate, vote and do their fair share of any actual labor but their real talent is to organize projects and get everyone to pitch in and to work together.

When he asks Congress for money for a "Green Energy" initiative
and a dozen or so Repugs try to block the effort, he'll ask us,
the people, the ones who have the real power, to write, call, visit
fax, email and or promise to vote out of office any obstructionist
Rep or Congressperson.
Can you imagine the effect of 10 million letters faxes and phone calls hitting a Senators
office would have? The staff would quit from exhaustion. Total Gridlock for Senator X.

I am not sure that I have come across such intelligence.
The thing about speeches, etc. to keep in mind is that most people are not political junkies. Most aren't going to be parsing his words. And actually, there is something to be said for consistency. How often are we complaining about pandering?
I don't think that they are mutually exclusive, but it's possible that the lack of pandering may come across as redundancy.
Even if the talking heads do read it they will take it out of context. A DUer even posted snips from "Dreams" out of context one day.
For people who are unwilling to consider alternate possibilities. He makes their heads spin.
He accepts responsibility. In "The Audacity of Hope" he talks about keeping himself in check by keeping a close watch on pitfalls.
Contrast that with our former first lady who has unabashedly adopted the dirty strategies used against her.

51. Exactly, that's what truly caught my attention
Bush/cheney are saber rattling severely and Obama was quite clear on how important other options are rather than "nuking them". He said a president should not take any options off the table but that there were many avenues to pursue before something drastic like that. If only this would get the talking heads going like the Wright story has, so sad. This is terrible important at this time and Obama puts me in the comfort zone with his explanation. Then I get uncomfortable when I hear things are ramping up in the Anbar Province, 4 marines killed, etc., and no mention of the Sunni countries interfering with progress in Iraq only Iran! Ugh....

You can't get anything done in the domestic area like health care, civil rights, etc. without approval from Congress. So, we need a person leading that can get things done if we don't have a 60 vote lead on any issue in the Senate.
