Obama Congratulates Congressman-elect Don Cazayoux on his victory in Lousiana
Obama has proven to the SDs last night and in Illinois that has "down ticket" value. And despite the Republican attacks, invoking the name of Obama, a Democrat won in a district that has been Republican for the last 25 years. I look forward to reading Sen. Clinton's congratulatory note.

"*** UPDATE *** Obama issued this statement last night: “I congratulate Congressman-elect Don Cazayoux on his victory tonight. By electing Don in this traditionally Republican district, the people of Louisiana rejected the politics of division and distraction, and voted for real change. Don's victory sends a clear sign that the American people are ready to turn the page on the failed policies of the past eight years. And I look forward to working with him in the coming months to fix our economy and lift up America's hardworking families."

6. Clinton: has nothing but threats and arm-twisting. Obama has coattails. You decide.

14. No surprise that Gov. Gregoire of WA State endorsed Obama
She's one of these politicians who are thousands of times better at actually holding office than at campaigning. In other words, she knows perfectly well that she'll need coattails.

4. Congrats to the Representative
Hopefully, this will release the floodgates and more SDs will start rolling out. Great news for all Democrats. You know, the RNC must just be sick at this point. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall?

The campaign has been expressing "doubt" about Obama and were "concerned" that he could hurt this Rep's chances of winning. Hmmm

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/feedarticle/7497837

"Democratic losses would give Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton new ammunition to build her case for her presidential candidacy by questioning the sturdiness of Obama's coattails.

"``I think people want to know what chances we're going to be having in November if Obama is the nominee,'' said U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat who has endorsed Clinton.

"``There are a host of judgments that superdelegates make,'' said Sen. Ron Wyden, an Oregon Democrat who has not endorsed either presidential candidate. ``Certainly a special election held close to a contested primary like this one could be very relevant.'' "

9. This is pretty important. Thanks for posting.
The Republican attacks against Cazayoux invoking Obama was getting some play. If the results would have been different this would have been covered 24/7 for days. I'm sure we won't hear much about the win, and what it might imply for down ticket candidates, but at least the turnout is in our back pocket for later use. Thank you for posting.

He's a weasel but Mississippi isn't exactly the friendliest place for dems that aren't DLCers.
