Edited on Sun May-04-08 02:36 PM by JoFerret
They hardly need strategists to write their campaign theme and chart the tactics.

What is unknown is the degree of success.

With Obama's electoral weakness against fellow dems to say there is reason for concern is to put it mildly.

22. Here, allow me to write the GOP's first attack ad for them .......
Full color shot of Hillary Clinton Maybe something like this:

Cue in voice over from announcer: Hillary Clinton says John McCain brings the most experience to the White House.

Camera slowly zooms in until only her face is on the screen.

Cue in Hillary voice over:
John McCain brings a lifetime of experience, Barack brings a speech he made in 2002.

Picture slowly fades to John McCain.

Picture fades back out.

Cue in Bill Clinton photo. Maybe something like this:

Cue in voice over from announcer: This is what former Democratic President Bill Clinton had to say about Barack Obama's candidacy.

Cue in Bill Clinton voice over: Give me a break, this whole thing is the biggest fairytale I've ever seen.

Cue in voice over from announcer: Obama's fellow Democrats agree, he's not ready. Vote John McCain.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gee, thanks Bill and Hill, you've just given us four more years of McSame.

29. They know Obama is the nominee
and they have switched tactics, as has been noted here before.

at this point, the republicans are trying to discourage Clinton voters so that they will not back the democratic ticket. previously, they had Limbaugh calling on his listeners to vote for Hillary in open primaries... and many have admitted that they did. They have been and are trying to sow divisiveness within the democratic party.

The republicans had Jonah Goldberg's mom, Lucienne, as a mole in the McGovern campaign. She's also, what a surprise, a buddy of Linda Tripp and helped Tripp to expose Lewinsky in order to hurt Bill Clinton's campaign for re-election... and to have their own "watergate" and impeachment so that they wouldn't look like the sewer-sucking scumbags that they are.

Make no mistake, the republicans are willing to do just about anything to undermine democrats.

Please, OP, do not be so gullible. The republicans are going use their psy-ops in every way they can. This is just my guess, but, say, oh, over the next week or two, I bet we start hearing from Cheney about how "safe" we are because of Bush. Why would they start this now? Because they know Obama is the nominee. Because republicans run on fear. They cannot offer anything else at this moment.

Since the republicans already know they are in deep shit with the most unpopular president in history, I would expect them to be esp. down and dirty... that's all they've got. gutter politics.

Once Obama takes on McSame front and center, look for McSame to be an even worse candidate than Bob Dole. Watch and learn.

I'm serious. Explain WHY I should care who the GOP claims to want for a Democratic candidate in the GE, and particularly why this should influence my perception of the candidates and which candidate I should favor. Get on it.

The GOP is the opposition party, you know. But maybe you don't, Mr. 22-post wonder with no profile.

We have a problem with people who are actually Republicans creating accounts on here to stir up shit between democrats. People with lower posting are largely suspected till they've been here for a while. Don't take offense to it. Everyone who is knew here is viewed suspiciously until they've been here for a while. I went through it a few months ago to so people are just being cautious because it is a known GOP web tactic.

the republican shills are the republicans in the article who are spouting the "new talking points" for the gop.

Edited on Sun May-04-08 04:21 PM by Palatino
If you were a candidate, would you prefer to be trashed for months until you are down 130 delegates? Or would you like to have your reverend bashed when it was too late for it to make you lose the primaries? Peggy Noonan, David Brooks, Weekly Standard, Drudge, mostly all right-wingers knocked Hil out of the race and only started bashing Obama when they learned he was going to be the nominee--when it would be of no benefit to their hated Hillary.

61. Howdy, and welcome to DU!
I mean that sincerely. :hi:

The GOP will go after whomever is our nominee, and fiercely, and it doesn't matter whether it's Clinton or Obama. They're getting the ammo on both of our candidates through this long primary. Our mission, should we choose to accept it, (Cue the music - dum-da-dum-dumnnnm dum-da-dum-dummm, da-da-daaaaaaaa.....) is to work hard for our candidate when we get this all finalized. Hopefully we can all get together on this once the dust has settled and complete the mission.
