Will Hillary Be Allowed To Speak At The Convention ???
I'm sure they will quickly try to find a way to salve the wounds before Denver, with lots of speeches about unity, but as it stands now...

If she keeps beating this dead horse with Republican tactics, I'm not sure she wouldn't get booed out of the convention center in August.

I know I'd sure boo the shit out of her if I were an Obama Delegate!

4. You're Probably Correct, But...
she's already being booed by the party faithful now. And these wounds may not heal as easily as many Dems seem to think.

But most of those at the convention want to win in November
They understand this is a primary and will unite for the general.

2. hilary sure gets booed a lot..I remember
when I was watching the Tribute to the 9/11 family and friends on tv and she came out and was Booed.

I was upset then because I obviously didn't know her but any Boos she got after October 2002 are well earned.

5. 1st or 2nd day if the convention isn't brokered
They will hand out Hillary signs and everyone will cheer and talk about what a great campaign she ran. Than she'll fly back to NY or Washington and that will be how the story ends.

What the hell, I wouldn't miss it for the world myself.

Meantime, however, she pops up on the screen, I'm grabbing for the remote.

10. I Guess I'm Wondering What The Crowd Reaction Would Be...
Will everybody kiss and make up? Will people sit on their hands? Will they turn their backs? Will they boo? Will they walk out?

I'm hoping we can seal the deal this week, but I doubt it. And the longer it goes on, the more the anger grows.

'Cause she's a sho-in for the 2012 republican ticket if she teams up with Lieberman.

15. If OBama delegates boo her, they will be responsible for us losing in the fall
Lots of people watch conventions. Tens of millions. If the Obama delegates are seen as petulant, angry children, and they alienate Hillary's base, then we lose.

Remember Pat Buchanan's speech? Dumb moments, watched by the entire nation, can lose elections.

20. If we as a party haven't come together by the convention, we will have already lost...
Personally, I'll be amazed if we can. But to say that the convention makes this moment misses the point. This, similar to your Republican example, is more of an indication that the party is still divided. Its not the cause of the loss - merely a symptom of the fact that we will lose because we are divided.

26. If some or many boo her at the convention, how will you know it is Obama delegates?
Point is, you won't know - there is just no way to know. But if she is booed, I'll tell you how to make a pretty good guess of who (or what group) is booing her. Just ask yourself who benefits from her being booed, and your answer will tell you who did.

22. WTF is wrong with you?
There must be around 20-30 supposed Obama supporters on this board every day who seemingly try as hard as they can to alienate people and make the campaign look bad.

You know rational people call folks like that?

Losers.

Edited on Sun May-04-08 04:02 PM by Yael
Where one side of the country is cheering and the other is rolling their eyes.

Delegates are activists -- they know this has to end. I would anticipate polite applause and cab fare to Denver International.

28. If I recall correctly, the candidates don't speak at all. Others stand up to make
nominating speeches. It's only when a nominee is chosen that that person speaks to the convention.

Which convention was it that the preliminary speeches went on so long that the candidate didn't take the podium until after half the country had gone to bed?

She's already leading crowds in Obama chants!

As Howard Dean said, the most important person will be the one that doesn't win the nomination. If that's Hillary, she will be expected to rally the troops behind Obama. There's no doubt she will play a big part in the convention and all the way through November.
