Indy J-J Dinner?
Does anyone know if the J-J dinner is televised tonight, and what time Obama & Clinton are speaking?

I'm from PA and spent a few years in Philadelphia
We aren't known for our manners :-)

I lived in Indiana...the people there value their politeness as much as we value our rudeness on the coast.

I think I got the finger once driving there in 3 years...I get it about 3 times a week in PA....Home Sweet Home

9. Thanks! Watching this now. Evan Bayh is giving a good Kumbuya speech...
He's a good speaker, and a good MC. He's speaking a good generic Democratic line, perhaps with too much apple pie, but is still pretty good.

Edited on Sun May-04-08 07:28 PM by sfam
WackyZack.com? Hmmm...no, I don't think I'm going there, even though a purple duck with a Three Musketeers saber looks pretty funny...unfortunately, it doesn't look like they have rotating ads, so I'm stuck with the duck...

Hopefully another speaker comes on soon (Bayh is done).

EDIT: BTW, for those who don't know what Microsoft Silverlight is, its a terrific competing product to Adobe Flash. Its gonna be a MUST install in the next few months, so you might as well now if you need to install to watch the dinner speeches...

I'm a Web 2.0 geek in real life. Microsoft Silverlight will make HUGE inroads in Rich Internet Applications traditionally run by Adobe Flash. It really is the Bomb. And I say this as someone who generally hates Microsoft (I use Firefox, for instance, not IE).

EDIT: as an aside, might I just say, "Thumbs up" on the music track they are running!

14. Hillary's coming up right now...why does she always speak first at these things?
Edited on Sun May-04-08 07:45 PM by sfam
She did this for the VA Dems dinner as well. I'm guessing this is sort of a Jimi Hendrix type thing (he always went last), where she doesn't want to be upstaged by a terrific speech if she goes second.

Now she's doing the clap-clap-point thing...

EDIT: Indy 500 reference..."Are you ready to start your engines and get this country going again???"

She's ridiculing him again, saying it'll take someone like HER to get things done instead of someone like OBAMA who will only "hope" for change. That's the implication of what she's saying now.

Edited on Sun May-04-08 08:02 PM by flpoljunkie
It is the ultimate pander, and even if Congress passed the legislation, Bush would not sign it, and if he did, it would not drive down the price of gas at the pump. More likely, it would just increase Exxon-Mobil's profits--Shell's too, Steven Elmendorf (Shell lobbyist and Hillary Clinton surrogate)!

You have to install Microsoft Silverlight, but you probably want to do that anyways. Its the new Adobe Flash.

Because of his performance on the 9/11 Commission....but I'm sure he has a lot of good will in Indiana.

95. I'm watching on delay......
Just turned up the volume on Hillary.

She's promising the world.

She's talking NAFTA that her husband signed.
She's talking China Trade deal which her husband signed.

Now's she's getting worked up about the policies her husband put in place.
