given that McCain's only health-care plan is to urge people NOT to eat candy bars and the like, and hope that they therefore won't ever need to see a doctor.

Edited to add this great summary from Gail Collins's latest column in the New York Times:

And then there was the health care speech when (McCain) told people to take responsibility for buying their own insurance policies and “watch your diet, walk 30 or so minutes a day and take a few other simple precautions” so they won’t get sick. We will think of this forevermore as his Let Them Not Eat Cake moment.
