How or why are liberals and Democrats so easily manipulated?
I can't imagine the sort of Hillary VS Obama drama playing out on the GOP side. They would all look at the big picture and put an immediate end to things. How is it that the Republican media and talking heads are able to keep things going? Now I understand that Hillary WANTS to the nomination (but that's not all that unusual, there are plenty of other politicians that would do what she is doing). The thing that puzzles me is how the Dems are being tricked into supporting her. It seems like it's being done with the greatest of ease. It reminds me of Nader in 2000. Looking back on it, who could have been foolish enough to believe Nader's claim that Bush and Gore were all the same? Now you have Dems buying into the claim that Hillary's run (these past month or so, has been good for the Dems). Why is it that the Dems and liberals seem to be more easily manipulated to go against their own best interests, than the Repukes and right wing nuts?

7. We have been manipulated
into allowing Obama to steal the nomination instead of crowning Hillary on Feb. 5th.

9. You can't steal what is rightfully earned, Obama earned his victory
by winning the most contests and getting the most votes

2. Liberals are not easily manipulated... Centrists are..
It's been the centrists that have been going-along to get-along with Bushco since the retaking of the House and Senate in 2006 and it's the centrists that believe Obama to be a crazy liberal that won't allow the DLC dream of taking back the White House with Hillary die even when she clearly has no path to victory.

12. Dude stupid people get a vote too. In a country that allowed a Bush to become a president 3 times
you misunderestimate the power of stupidity at your own risk.

14. I don't underestimate the power of stupidity, I loathe it.
But I guess that's what makes me an elitist, latte drinking, volvo driving Obama supporter... or something like that. It should be said that I don't drink lattes, coffee is gross (although I admit a weakness for McDonald's or gas station French Vanilla Cappuchinos) and I drive a Chevy Malibu. I don't mind being called an elitist although to be fair I make far below the level of money that probably qualifies you to be one. I also did not graduate from college, though I think I'm a rather smart fellow even without the paper saying so.

3. It's mostly good that we don't toe the line
We are a discriminating lot and tend not to follow party orders. On the other side, the Republicans would follow Bush-Cheney-Rove all off a cliff if they only asked. Ooops, they asked and they did. :eyes:

It sucks during the primaries, but at least we are a thoughtful corps of devotees.

13. Although I agree it is the CENTRISTS that are manipulated, the Progressives are torn...
A woman or a black man, neither of them a true progressive.

The Right wing conspiracy gave us Obama---now they fear he might win.
