3. There is no way Obama would go Indy
As far as who I would vote for, that is 100% dependent upon the manner in which Hillary won. IF she wins it by achieving the 2024.5 threshold, I goota go with Hillary.

If she nukes, she's worse than Repukes.

issues.

9. If Hillary manages to get the nomination
Edited on Mon May-05-08 03:03 PM by nichomachus
she will either lose in the GE -- likely with a probability of .82. If she manages, through some fluke, to get elected, she will be a one-termer and very vulnerable to even a Dem challenge in 2012. Obama would be stupid not to wait for the chance to run again in 2012. The problem with that scenario is that it will give the GOP four years to groom and pump up someone for 2012, which is why the Democrats need to elect a two-termer this time around.

Hillary, if elected, will almost certainly not serve two terms. She will go into office with an electoral victory, but little moral support from the Democrats who will hold their noses to vote for her. She has burned too many bridges and angered too many people. When the GOP attacks, which it will, she will find very few people standing by her side. They will be able to take her down.

And, don't look for her to be naming "liberal" justices to the Supreme Court. They won't let her. Between the very effective GOP minority in Congress and the very flaccid Dems (impeachment off the table), the demands of her corporate bosses, and the right-wing media she now dearly loves, she will be only be able to name people who are slightly less right-wing wacko than Clarence Thomas. She will be able to appoint no one who is not approved by the corporatocracy.

10. There's excellent reason to believe exactly that. You see...
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

12. If Hillary takes the nomination, the party will splinter
At least in terms of national politics. It will insure Republican presidencies for the next 20 years.

13. If Hillary steals the nomination, the Democratic Party as we know it is dead.
So the point of whether he'll stay a Democrat or not is almost moot.

The real question is, will there still be a Democratic Party?
