I'm not voting for a Democrat in Oregon this month....
Edited on Mon May-05-08 05:09 PM by Flabbergasted
Apparently I'm registered non-partisan and I can't vote in any of the big races. I thought I was registered Democrat.

I'm so dissappointed...I've been waiting to vote for months.

1. I'm so disappointed for you --
Especially since it will probably MEAN something this time around!

This is the first time I've voted when the outcome hasn't been a foregone conclusion, and I would have been devastated if I hadn't been able to.

5. Noooo.
Don't wait until November. I believe that, in most states, registration ends a month before the election.

19. OT --
Maddy, I know I'm in the minority here (maybe just a minority of one) but your frog gives me the willies, so I'm not missing him/her during Defcon 1.

Until normalcy resumes, I don't have to read your posts REALLY REALLY FAST and scroll on down!

I'm sure you wanted to know that.

23. It REALLY doesn't matter to me what you think.
Or what anybody else thinks. I love my frog. He's staying as long as I do. If you're such a sensitive nellie that you can't bear to look, that's something you need to deal with. Not my burden.

24. Fernando is part of who Maddy is - so I will defend her.
I've known Maddy and her frog for YEARS - and I still love her even though we currently disagree with our choices of candidates.

27. There's nothing to defend -- it wasn't an attack.
It was honestly a friendly post on my part. ATTEMPT at a friendly post, I guess I should say.

So I extend my apologies to you to. Won't be trying that again any time soon.

26. Believe it or not,
that was an attempt at a friendly post on my part. Sorry.

Maybe I should have used the sarcasm smilie when I said I was sure you'd want to know how I felt.

Again, sorry I tried.

races as well.

11. If you had the interest in politics, why didn't you have an interest in
finding out how you were registered?

A simple phone call would have cleared this up for you months ago.

15. Some folks in Oregon don't like Democratic Party has become
and can't in good conscience associate themselves with it. Not to imply that the OP feels that way- necessarily but I fully and completely understand (and RESPECT) those who do....

14. It's a pretty paltry ballot is you didn't reregister Dem
I'd still urge a NO vote on measure 53.

Making property forfeitures without a criminal convictions easier- and giving the proceeds to law enforcement is a PROFOUNDLY BAD idea....

Especially since it is another attempt to get rid of something we voted in not that long ago, they just don't believe us the first time around I guess... We definitely need to vote that one down.

16. That's a bummer...
but don't let it get you down. You can still put up yard signs, talk to your neighbors, and help GOTV on election day. Meantime, put a smile on that sad face and think about November!

18. Ah, that bites. :(
I feel your pain though. I had to move to Texas temporarily and planned on voting absentee in Louisiana since I still have my home there and it is officially my home, but my car insurance company forced me to change my license so I had to register in Texas. I'll be able to vote in November, but I too didn't get to vote or caucus in the Texas primary. Probably didn't matter since this area is mostly Hillary or Huckabee, but I just wanted to have that feel good moment of voting for Obama. Ah, November will be here soon I suppose. :)
