Today we will all find out the stupidity of the voters.
Fortunately or unfortunately their is a real issue that seems to be the forefront of todays vote = the summer gas tax holiday...

Hillary has put out a tax cut proposal that has been proven in the past that doesn't work. Has every expert in the country against it. Has Hillary's own staff saying it wont work. Experts have said it will cost 300,000 job losses and the oil company will just raise their prices and people will in the short term drive more and use more oil/gas. And there is NO WAY IN HELL Bush will approve it.
When Hillary is questioned on this she uses oil lobbyists to bolster her points on this. When given the facts that Bush will not approve it and no expert is for it she on TV calls experts elitists (are doctors elitists too) and says "polls are for it"..

On the other hand we have Obama giving you the truth on what will happen..

So we have two strategies.. 1. Hillary is pandering and purposely trying to sale a plan that she knows there is no way in hell that will work. 2. We have Obama selling the truth, telling Americans how it will not work and what really needs to be done.

Can Hillary capitalize on the stupid people today? We will see.

1. I hope this makes the front page of DU...
come on Obama supporters - REC this thread to the top!!! :woohoo:

Just like Obama, his supporters think half of the voters are stupid. I guess Obama and his supporters do not need the 'stupid' voters in America during the GE. :eyes:

Calling people stupid because they see things a little differently, is elitist....where have I heard that word..oh yeah...to describe Obama.

You guys can't muster up anything over 15 recs anymore...you need to try to get the Obama supporters to do it.

You have become an endagered species...we really should set aside some habitat for you and some protection.

this site is being gamed by the freepers. Even though the site 'that must not be named' is down for reworking, their sister site, the cave...has call-outs for their members with moles on DU, to rec up threads that are pro-Obama.

We are talking about the Dems here, calling the half that do not vote for Obama stupid, is calling Democrats stupid...not the freeper moran or the freepers that helped put junior in office.

20. And anybody who actually believes in the "tax holiday" for gas
IS stupid. It is contrary to all the fundamentals of economics.

The question is, will people abandon Hillary for it, or will they prove themselves to be willing to be lied to?

Do you support it? Or do you accept it as simple pandering, and something to put up with to get your person elected, which puts it in the category of "all politicians lie".

Now, people may have very legitimate reasons to support Hillary (though I have trouble seeing what they might be) but the gas tax 'relief' is NOT one of them - so anyone supporting her on that point, well, is stupid.

14. there is more chance of hope &
inspiration solving those than a politically pandering plan that is brain dead on arrival.

Your logic=support a plan that won't work because to hope & find inspiration to deal with the problem would be stupid?

45. Accomplishments?
What foreign policy experience did Hillary have? The IRA deal? The one where people actually involved in the process said her contribution was ornamental?

She had less legislative experience then Obama.

First Lady? President Laura Bush anyone?

This 'wealth of experience' was a crock.

12. Hillary says she will obliterate OPEC
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0508/Clinton_OPEC_can_no_longer_be_a_cartel.html

There are no limits on what Hillary will say to try to grab votes. Last night, she said she would take on OPEC. She infers that OPEC is hoarding oil to push up prices.

She pretends to ignore the economics and realities. Most OPEC countries do not have any excess capacity. We have passed the point of peak oil production worldwide. Much of the remaining oil is hard and expensive to extract. Saudi Arabia is the main country that is working to increase their capacity, and they threatened to stop the investment if the US puts too much effort into renewable fuels.

The problem is greatly increasing demand with a stagnant supply. Not only are large amounts of oil being used in China and India and the 3rd World, but also the Persian Gulf countries have greatly increased their own demand.

One of the main reasons for the increased prices is because the US dollar has such little value against other currencies.

The largest suppliers of oil to the US are actually Canada and Mexico. Much of the US Alaskan oil is shipped to Japan.

The retailers and refiners of gasoline actually are not making high profits. Sunoco, which only retails and refines gasoline and does not extract it, is doing poorly. Exxon's refining and retail divisions are not doing well - they are making all of their profits from oil extraction.

25. Let's wait an see how today's voting turns out. I still think anyone who
votes for this silly 18 cent reduction that they most likely won't see in total doesn't indicate uninformed, but stupidity. I'm one of the lower income DUers, and I care more about keeping the road construction workers employed, and keeping bridges from falling down than I do about the $3.60 a week (I use about 20 gal. a week) that I MIGHT get from eliminating this tax. I don't work on a road crew, but I care about the people who do. We don't have very many bridges here, but I care about the people who live in places who DO have a lot of them, and most of them are very old structures. I still think there are far too many people who are so selfish, they only care about their $3.60 and nothing else.

effectively with the help of MSM, how disgusting and disappointing
to find ourselves in this position.

Sad to say but, most voters would vote on racial issues and the

I will be very surprise if the voters in Indiana turn out to be more

call it what you want, but that's what she does. this stupid gas tax thing was discussed on olbermann the other night and the guest called them "low information" voters. unfortunately there are a lot of people in this country who don't look into the facts and they eat up all the soundbytes whether or not they're true. that's the only reason Hillary is still standing. it's disgusting IMHO.

one of the commentators (I think Chris Matthews) said something like, "This is post-pander politics. People are more interested in hearing from someone who tells them the truth than from someone who tells them what they want to hear."

Amen to that, and not a moment too soon.
