Barack Obama was asked about Carville's cojones comment, this is what he said:

"Well, you know, James Carville is well-known for spouting off his mouth without always knowing what he's talking about. And I intend to stay focused on fighting for the American people because what they don't need is 20 more years of performance art on television. And that's what James Carville and a lot of those folks are expert at ... a lot of talk and not getting things done for the American people."

And that's not just a throw-away line. Does anybody else have the feeling there could be an insightful 20 minute speech about what has happened to the media somewhere in the near future?

Obama has a very good way of speaking frankly and bluntly without being mean-spirited. If anybody could deliver this message to the media and live to tell the tale, he's the one.

There are probably loads of "grunts" in the media who would love to hear this come out, and maybe even a few of the visible ones would grow a pair with Obama's help.

I can't remember ever looking forward to an election campaign as much as this one, and I've seem a whole bunch of them.
