I dont like politics at all. But once in a lifetime there comes along a candidate that draws you into the fray. If Obama wasn't that good, I wouldnt care. I was through after getting BUSH-whacked. I have republican friends that almost apologize to me for that everytime we talk about it. Even they hate Bush. Republicans are getting to help decide who faces them in the General election and that is WRONG. Posted by: Keith Lifetime Chicagoan and Southsider | May 6, 2008 3:21 PM

6. Blame Indiana for having open primaries
and allowing this sort of shit. The only people who should be allowed to vote in a democratic primary are democrats otherwise this sort of mischief is bound to happen.

4. What a bunch of sheep
Can you imagine any "personality" getting a large group of democrats to follow the leader like that? Mindless lemmings following their pied piper off a cliff.

8. I hate this crap, with both sides
From the story:

"Among them was Meghan Ward-Bopp, 24, who went against family tradition and asked for Democratic ballot so she could vote for Barack Obama; she plans to vote for Republican John McCain in November.

"I'm a hardcore Republican," she said, "but it's about who I wanted in second place in case McCain doesn't make it. ... I don't like the way this country's been run in the last 20 years. I'm sick of the dynasty (of two families) that's been running things."

Jim Adams, 36, voted for Clinton "to keep the race going beyond Indiana,'' the Star reports. "He's a McCain backer and enjoys watching the Democrats fight.''

Two Republicans voting for Dems, one for Clinton one for Obama, and both of them will vote for McCain in the Fall.

Earlier this season, before Limbaugh got involved, Obama supporters bragged about the number of cross over Republicans they were bringing into the Obama camp, which helped Obama overturn the lead Clinton was maintaining among registered Democratic primary voters.

It's like the horse trading in caucuses. Bah, too much game playing. Give me secret ballots where only Democrats can vote for Democratic candidates, or at least no Republicans can participate.

9. She wants Obama to win, so what's wrong with her voting Obama?
Is that just as bad as voting Hillary just so the primary goes longer?

10. But she doesn't want Obama to win the Presidency, she wants McCain
Since you agree with her that Obama is a better choice than Clinton, you don't see the problem. But what if it were the 2004 election instead, and a whole lot of Republicans voted for Lieberman in the Democratic Primaries because if Bush couldn't win then they at least wanted Lieberman?

13. She DOES want Obama to win the presidency. She wants McCain to win first, but secondly she'd want
Obama. Do we allow the concept of a person wanting two different people to potentially win the presidency?
