Obama didn't gain a big enough spread in Fort Wayne County to win the state.

5. Yeah, a few months back it was assumed to be a given for Obama
since it is so close to Illinois.

8. No, that's Clintonite spin
Obama had a chance to make it close if he got big numbers out of Lake, Allen, and, of course, Marion. He didn't get enough in Allen (up 10% with 88% reporting, so the result is a virtual certainty at this point.

Clinton by 7%, as I see it.

3. I just clicked on the map, and I think you're right...his margin in areas
he was predicted to win won't be big enough to overcome her lead in the other areas.

10. these demographic blocks are not shifting either way to any candidate
this election has drawn out long enough. People KNOW who they are going to vote for and now it is just a demographics game.

4. Probably right... they are holding off til then. Marion County is coming in
stronger than I thought thought... maybe plus 30,000-35,000 in the final margin

Cities of Gary, Bloomington and Indianapolis haven't reported yet,

18. Here's a list of the largest Indiana counties
Edited on Tue May-06-08 07:28 PM by featherman
http://www.assmotax.org/Data/indcounty.php

Marion, Lake, Allen, St Joseph are the four largest and should favor Obama (not sure about St Joseph/South Bend)

Next largest: Elkhart and Hamilton. Hamilton is supposed to be an Obama county an he leads early returns. Obama is winning Elkhart

Clinton should win overall but these counties will make it closer at least IMO
