TX Dem leaders to HRC: "the Democratic nomination is over....unification...begin at once"
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/050808dnpoltxdems.dbecabd1.html

Several prominent Texas supporters of Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama agreed Wednesday that the race for the Democratic nomination is over and that the unification of the party needs to begin at once.

Mr. Obama's double-digit victory in North Carolina and close defeat in Indiana made it nearly impossible for Mrs. Clinton to catch him in the number of pledged delegates. His popular vote lead, assuming Florida and Michigan are left out of the mix, is also insurmountable.

<snip>

David Hardt of Dallas, an uncommitted superdelegate, said Mrs. Clinton's speechwriters were already preparing for the inevitable because of her seemingly conciliatory remarks Tuesday night.

"The healing process is already beginning," he said. "No matter what happens, Hillary Clinton will do the right thing."

1. My guess that this sentiment is being heard in many a Democratic
gathering coast to coast this week.

I bet it is flying across tables at Drinking Liberally groups.

It is certainly in the analysis on a good handful of progressive blogs.

Now. Who's going to be the one to tell Hillary?

2. Obama can help Noriega in his Senate race.
We need to let the healing begin and focus on not only beating McCain, but presenting a unified party to help our Congressional and Senate candidates.

America is ready to rid itself of rule by the 28%ers. Let's not shoot ourselves in the foot and miss a good opportunity to make inroads into states like Texas.

8. Yes, it really is over.
I'll do some more phonebanking but it is over. This is a swelling chorus. This morning on VPR I heard Vermont's lone Clinton SD saying much the same thing. It's being repeated by SDs and prominent dems throughout the country. It's now simply a matter of when she'll leave the race.
