*Question* Let's say Obama DOES become our official nominee...
Edited on Thu May-08-08 07:07 AM by KillCapitalism
If Obama is officially nominated, what will happen if Hillary refuses to accept that & says she will still campaign for President anyway? I think this is what will happen. Will she then have to go 3rd party or what?

1. ridiculous. Obama won't officially be nonimated until the convention
are you suggesting that Hillary would continue campaigning after that?

Yes, I believe she would.
My question is would her only option to do so would be to run as a 3rd party candidate?

15. Afaik that option is long gone
as registration in most states - if not all - as presidential candidate is over.

Would take some write-in campaign - anyone can see that won't work.

Not that I think she would, btw.

2. She won't
She might be lashing back now to reality but Bill Clinton cares alot about his legacy...alot. He's the one who will be the one to stop her.

6. He's the one that has kept her in it this long.
Telling her "We aren't a family of quitters."

7. Yes
However...when it comes time and he sees his precious legacy is in danger...he'll be the one to tell her.

11. I believe that has been carefully crafted, She has said the Democrat, not the Democrat Nominee

12. She said "the nominee" several times on Tuesday.
there's a transcript floating around here somewhere. Doesn't matter anyawys - Obama's facing McCain, with or without the Clintons' help.

13. She has not said the Democratic AND Nominee in the same context for a number of weeks
It has been the Democrat, I will get get behind and work my butt off for the Democrat.
And I will work for the nominee, its been interesting because of the way she has parsed things in the past.

Time will tell, I may be completely wrong, but ths is my impression and belief since I started noticing and knowing her history of "Misspeaking" and previous parsing on the order of Bill Clintons, It depends on what your definition of is is.

8. She won't.
She has some serious financial problems, relating to her primary campaign, that go well beyond her "loans" to her own campaign. She isn't in a position where she could afford a third party run.

10. I have said it before, The DLC is a shadow DNC, and She has layed the groundwork
Edited on Thu May-08-08 07:30 AM by Boz
to "save the Democrat party from itself" and the "elitist trying to take it away" and she knows what the American people need more than they do because of her experience.

The DLC has mimicked the DNC in every major way, including purchasing its OWN copies of voter rolls and has copied and duplicated all aspects of a Party seat, just like the DNC.

A couple of pieces of paper filed and the fight becomes the civil war that has been brewing to seize control of the Democratic Party.

The lines are drawn, the candidates are reflective of that civil division, the DNC, Chaired by the current DNC chair Howard Dean, 50 state, All Americans matter, standard left leaning, Democratic power to the people platform and their candidate Obama versus the DLC, Chaired by FORMER DNC chair Terry McAuliffe, Big State, standard right leaning Centrist, Corporatist power with trickle down benefit economy, free trade platform and their candidate Hillary Clinton.

I believe this is what we are about to see.

The tickets:
DNC: Obama/Richardson
DLC: Clinton/Ford
