The undecided SD, a more likely explanation as to why they are dragging their feet.
Politicians are after all, politicians. The undecided superdelegates are as into politics as all of the posters on this board, which means they already know who they like. All this "waiting for the process to play out" or "electibility issues" are simply cover for the real reason they are late to the party which is:

Political leverage.

Politicians like to be relevant, once you commit you lose all leverage, wether it's to obtain a position in an upcoming administration, advance your position in the party itself or simply to be able to say that you put the eventual nominee over the top SDs want a payoff for that vote.

Take Edwards who has a handful of delegates at his control, if the rules commitee seats Fl and Hillary in a manner that significantly closes the gap on Obama, Edwards could hold the nomination in his hands and whats that worth to the candidates? VP? AG?

Don't expect the bulk of the SDs to move until all of the variables are gone and the nominee is decided.

It's unfortunate, but thats the game.

2. Edwards doesn't have any delegates at his control. He failed to get over the percentage
where he can direct them. The few he earned simply go back to uncommitted.

3. Well, if these spineless politicians wait much longer they are going to "seal their fate negative"

if there's any hope for the Presidential Coat-tails. They will also be "GUILTY" with the Clintons of IMPLODING the Democratic Party and ushering in 4-8 more years of GOP policies.

DAMMIT! WTF is the matter with them?!? They need to get out of their "ivory towers" and realize that the democratic electorate is about to DECLARE WAR ... *ON EACH OTHER.

Howard Dean? Nancy Pelosi?!? WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!

4. Edwards needed 15% of the total - he doesn't have that.
Therefore he doesn't have control of anything.

5. The Super thats blogging over at DCW
..said that some of them might also have considerations for their day to day professional life. Remember, not all of them are bread and butter politicians. And some sit on boards and in positions that they want to protect from a partisan image.

That doesn't invalidate your point much, ofc.

6. They also don't want to be the last one to endorse
Which puts a pretty small window on relevence.

7. I think they're trying to show Hillary some respect and hope she'll
step down before they make the move. I imagine, if she continues the charade, they'll eventually say to heck with her feelings and move.

8. I disagree- at least in part. I think the reason most of the remaining SDs
are waiting is simply to allow the voting to end and to not offend and further alienate hillary supporters who are prone to feeling that the dem insiders are mean to hillary. And JE is not a factor. His group of 19 delegates are free to endorse and he isn't an SD. In addition, Obama needs only about 1/3 of the remaining SDs. And they're coming in day by day. By next Tuesday, Obama will likely have completely closed Hillary's SD gap. There is absolutely no way that the RBC or credentials committee will seat both FL and MI as is anyway.
