Terry McAuliffe Says on Bill Press Show this morning "We Need To Bring Them Together"
He all but said thet Hillary needs to be the VP.

He said that she can get the votes that Obama can't.

He said we need to find some way to bring them together.

Hillary is now running vor VP. At as much as I hate to admit it I think it is the 100% best way to win this thing in November.

If we can control Bill, I think it would work!

2. I want you to be right about this one
But her being on the ticket will not necesssarily ensure this result. She will have to explain why she is supporting someone who she said was less prepared than John McCain to run the country, etc.

3. Well there is one plus for Hillary as VP, the Cheney factor
In other words Obama would be safe from some right wing nut job assassinating him, as they wouldn't want to see Hillary replace him.

14. Excellent point
It seems that if he selects a white male, his chances for getting knocked off would be much greater. It wouldn't be as meaningful for some right wing nut job to pick him off as they would get Hillary as his replacement.

16. It's time for Terry to take the Clintons on a vacation
We don't need to have the Clintons dragging the Obama ticket down in the fall and people like MacAuliffe need to retire.

Put it this way, having Hillary as the VP is a Trojan Horse for her to run in 2012... the last thing the Democratic Party needs now are the Clintons anywhere near the ticket. That takes away the whole message of change. She already endorse McCain. Maybe he wants her as VP...

17. Hillary and Bill will be a huge drag on the ticket. Plus they will power play
something fierce once the Dems win the White House.

We have real problems to solve when Obama's president. He does not need to be distracted by backstabbing politics being played in his own administration. He needs a VP who is 100% on his side. That will *never* be the Clintons.

Now Wes Clark, who is a Clinton supporter, may be a real possibility.

23. I will support him no matter who he chooses as a running mate,
but I think it would be a HUGE mistake for him to pick her. She has too much baggage, her negatives are too high an,d she'll breathe life into a demoralized GOP from either position on the Dem ticket. And how could he run on "change" if she's on his ticket?

Sorry Hill, Terry, and the DLC, your 15 minutes are just about up.

the time to negotiate for VP was literally 2 to 2.5 months ago

back when the relationship wasn't so poisonous.

obama is not going to do it. if you knew the first thing about the man and his politics, you would know that this is simply NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

put it to bed terry

30. I agree a unity ticket is our best chance for winning in November.
But I'm worried more and more that many Obama supporters are doing their best to paint him into a corner that will make it impossible for him to build the coalition he needs to win the GE. They don't want him to put Hillary on the ticket, though that's usually a winning strategy when a party is pretty evenly divided. They don't want him to consider paying off her campaign debts, though that's also standard.

I've seen too many announce here that Hillary supporters are racists, or ignorant. And that they don't need Hillary's millions of supporters, because they're sure Obama is so inspirational he'll bring in millions of voters to replace any that won't support him if they feel he's snubbing half of the Democratic electorate.

They're overestimating his appeal, and underestimating just how powerful the GOP political machine is.

And I'm beginning to feel like someone sitting in a canoe drifting toward the edge of a waterfall, with people who have us paddling in circles because they can't admit anyone on the other side of the same canoe they're in has any merit, or a significant viewpoint, or any right to be in the same canoe.

I just have to hope Obama is more reasonable and intelligent than many of his supporters.
