Why are all the northern antiwar rednecks and woods hippies voting for Obama?

I think it's probly because we don't like women and we refuse to vote for anybody who's old enough to have signed the Declaration of Independence but didn't.

5. Well, instead of "antiwar redneck," the local term is "jackpine savage"

or maybe "stump jumper." I thought everybody knew what an antiwar redneck might be.

Jackpine savages are a subspecies of redneck who infest inhabit the northwoods of Michigan, Wisconsin & Minnesota. They are a mix of Scandinavian, French-Canadian, Indian (mostly Ojibwa), German, Irish, and other stock. They tend to be much less religious than their southern brethren, but equally poor and equally well-armed.

Woods hippies are people who moved into the woods in the 60's and 70's in hopes of being left alone to grow their pot. They have acquired many of the characteristics of the jackpine savages, and to some extent have interbred with them, to the point that it is no longer easy to tell the difference between the two groups.

Its cool there, don't knock it. Been a few times and very beautiful and not very populated. They have the only socialist in the Senate. CT is not nearly as liberal, we are stuck with Loserman. At least we have Dodd.

There's something about having nothing, or nothing but a large expanse of water, between you and Canada that seems to help with maintaining your sanity.
