Hillary's new low
Edited on Thu May-08-08 10:39 AM by BL611
" ...Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-05-07-clintoninterview_N.htm

Look the problem is not so much her acknowledgment of her support among whites of lower socioeconomic status, which is true to some degree if not somewhat tacky to bring up the way she did. It's her characterization of "WORKING, HARD WORKING AMERICANS,WHITE AMERICANS." The inference is obvious: that only white Americans are hard working (as only hard working Americans are working). In other words this is straight up Trent Lott at a Strom Thurmond party shit. I'm sure she's going to come out and say she misspoke. Whatever. She was clearly trying to walk on the fence of acceptable racial pandering and wound up taking a BIG misstep over. The Clinton's just seem completely hellbent at this point of screwing up their legacy and nothing more. Shouldn't someone talk them, down from the edge of the bridge?

The demographics have been talked about non-stop through this entire campaign on both sides --and all of a sudden, because Clinton has stopped attacking --you need to manufacture an attack out of no where.

You wont answer my question about the extra adjectives after 3 different times of asking you so I think you know what I'm talking about and are throwing in the red herrings.

Let's just keep separating the party with our labels.. Let's see how many labels we have placed on perspective Democratic votes to date..

They are white, they are black, they are male, they are female, they are old, they are bigots, they are racists, they are liars, they are republicans... Now have I left anything out?

No wonder our party is split... We are doing it to ourselves....

that the Obama campaign has once again decided to paint Clinton as a racist --and so once again jump on anything that can be misinterpreted in order to paint her as one.

Not content to win only --they seek to destroy Hillary Clinton.

THIS is exactly the sort of crap that makes me waffle about whether or not I can vote for Obama.

Keep it up --I'm not alone.

as Bush, Rove, Cheney and the rest of them. The type of people who would out CIA agents and lie about intelligence to protect themselves and not worry about the constitution and doing what is right. I have had enough of people who have been corrupted by power. We need someone who is strong enough to want to do the right thing. Obama seems to have those qualities. At least I hope he does.

her words carefully. And she and her campaign have consistently chosen words, to splice and dice the American electorate in any way possible that will reflect 'support' for her candidacy, and more important demean the support of Senator Obama. Her main point that she should be the nominee is based on the color of Obama's skin.

a) Splitting the Democratic Party ?

OR

b) Unifying the Democratic Party ?

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

69. "Working, hard working white Americans." Hmmm... so white people are the hardest workers?

70. For the blind here are Sen. Clinton's remarks "in context"
"I have a much broader base to build a winning coalition on," she said in an interview with USA TODAY. As evidence, Clinton cited an Associated Press article "that found how Sen. Obama's support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me."

"There's a pattern emerging here," she said.

Clinton's blunt remarks about race came a day after primaries in Indiana and North Carolina dealt symbolic and mathematical blows to her White House ambitions.

Not only are her remarks racist they encourage racism. I personally think that she is not herself overtly racist but that her campaign and staffers are using overt racism to harm Sen.Obama.
