So, if I don't like Ms. Clinton or Mr. Obama...
Because of their stands and comments on certain issues, but still vote for the nominee come election time, does that make me a hypocrite?

1. It depends on how highly you value the SCOTUS. nt

4. I fail to see what the SCOTUS has to do with it...
If I vote for someone I do not care for does that make me a hypocrite is the question.

7. The SCOTUS is really not so much an issue this time, IMHO, because
it's stacked with nutjobs for many years to come thanks to the Dems in the Senate rolling over yet again. There's a clear nutjob majority, and most of the nutjobs are relatovely young. How can it get any worse with mclame if the majority is already there?

25. The next president will be appointing at least one new
judge, if not more. That is enough to tip the balance to a conservative court that will last a generation. Personally, I don't want my daughter seeking out a back alley abortion if she feels the need to have one.

23. If you don't care about a woman's right to choose,
then you can sit it out and not vote.

If you do, then you vote for whoever the nominee is - regardless of your opinions because you can be fairly certain that the Dem. candidate is going to appoint judges that are not anti-choice.

Admitting that puts you on the clever ignore lists floating around.

Trust me.

6. Meh. Don't care too much...
I don't like either candidate. I'm not going to lie and fawn over one or the other. If someone can't handle that fact then I'd rather they have me on ignore.

21. What's really funny is that I do post positive news items about both candidates.
When I do, they don't get the news because I'm on ignore.

I think that's funny as Hell.

Ignore is ignorant.

10. Or, you can say the water in Israel
tastes of sulphur... and you'll be called anti-semitic and land on those same lists. Same as Hitler, I suppose. Except Hitler was only interested in Jews... Israel is a melting pot. Oops I did it again!

Please ignore me:)

3. No, it makes you appear very intelligent:)
It's the right thing to do. It's time to take a little tip from the GOP, and do a little lockstep with the party... just for a bit... just long enough to unite the party and push for a vote for the nominee.

Be a Democrat. Be smart.

11. I'ved done lockstep for 24 years...

And, sadly, few things have changed except the faces.

While I'm glad that we finally got around to proving one does not need to be white or male to become the nominee, I still find myself nonplussed at the choices.

(On Edit: Spelling whoops.)

14. I feel the same
I'm not inspired at all... I figure all the single malt scotch is an antidote to the Kool Aid:)

Now, THAT will get you onto ignore lists with lightening speed! ;)

I have no dog in this race, but will vote Dem in the GE. Here I go again... voting AGAINST the GOP candidate. One does what one can, I suppose.

9. No, it makes you a pragmatist.
"Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable."

I would have preferred Gore as our nominee. And someone here, can't recall who, posted a poll that very quickly showed Gore would have had much more support than Obama.

But we don't have Gore.

And I want the Dems to win.

So I'm planning to vote for Obama, though I'd like to see a unity ticket.

I am getting very, very, very tired of the sexist comments about Hillary, though, and the suggestions that her supporters are racist.

12. The answer is...
Yes, sorta.

It might not make you a "hypocrite", but you definitely lose credibility or something.

13. Lose credibility?
I'd only lose credibility if I took a stand and back down. Something both candidates have done at one time or another. I'm more worried about theirs than I am about mine.

17. Funny how we call that flip flopping when a Republican does it
I'll never throw my pastor under the bus... couldn't do that any more than I could my grandmother... hey, preacher man, come see my new bus...

I had a similar one about Clinton, but I'm weary, and I tend to forget things I lose interest in. If it weren't for the damn media, I'd probably forget to vote this time around.

Then why ask if you would be considered a hypocrite?

I'll update my answer, given what you just posted

the answer is: who cares.

because if I don't, evil men in blue suits with lapel pins will decide for me. Hold your nose and vote!

16. Has there ever been anyone with whom you agree 100%?
Other than my reflection in the mirror, there isn't one person on the planet with whom I agree all the time.

And even then, it's iffy.

Vote for the party nominee with whom you agree MOST and you'll be fine.

22. First of all people change, the world changes and you are free to change your own mind
So there's no hypocrisy to begin with.

Each person has to decide what factors in a candidate are important them and make their own decision based on that. I would hope the positive factors are weighted more heavily than negative factors and doubts, but that's up to each individual.

26. A hypocrite to me is someone who will enable Johnn McCain to be in office
It's like "I'm not going to vote for the democrats because of their stance on issue "X" but I'm ok if I'm stuck with John McCain who will ensure he'll do exactly what I don't want him to do on "X" issue"
