You'd have to have been completely out of touch to believe that HRC wasn't considering a pres run when she sought reelection in 2006. In fact, Bill Clintonspecifically was asked about this in September 2005 on Meet the Press and said that she shouldn't make any commitments about not running.

she begged Obama not to go into politics - she said - please - do anything else - I don't care - BUT NO POLITICS. I feel sure that this was a huge decision for his family - but based on his gut instinct - and the condition we find ourselves in as a country - I believe him when he said it was Dr. King's words that inspired him - that it is NOW that he needs to run - THE URGENCY OF NOW.
