Will she be a pariah? Will she try to become the next Ted Kennedy?

23. I'd still like to see her a majority leader
She'd be a far cry from Daschle- or Harry Reid (who probably has the record of any minority/majority leader in history.

16. Are you kidding me, Matcom?????
I detest Hillary but I love you. No way she's running any "show". I want this primary over because some of my favorite DU members support Hillary and I can't stand that!

Hillary is a loser! You're not, Matcom!

24. She's not fit to tie Teddy's shoes.
I hope the senate holds a vote of no confidence after this fiasco.

2. Hopefully she'll be gone
Edited on Thu May-08-08 06:00 PM by Seen the light
I would support a Democratic challenger to her in NY.

Although, I suspect that if she is unsuccessful in winning the presidency in 2012, she'll quit the Senate soon enough anyway.

6. she'll have less clout than she had before this disasterous run
She won't be given a leadership role. She'll be lucky to hold onto her committee assignments. She has made no friends and lost friends in the congress the past 4 months. She's never been popular among US senators, but until the past few months, they at least thought she was going to be the party nominee.

She'll be a toothless lion in the senate.

That's why I think she'll run for NY governor and leave the senate.

12. Hillary can cajole 2-3 people but she is NO Leader in any sense of the word.
She would rule best as NY State's Governor where her self-righteousness and micro-management style will better accommodate success.

14. It's up to her. I think she could easily move into a leadership role if she can
find a way to exit this race with a positive face. It will depend on how she leaves, when
she leaves. If she is gracious and works for Obama and other Dem candidates, she will
only gain from this experience. If she does something else, I'm not sure. Dems like me
will resent her and the centrist DLC, others may not.

She made it through Bill's infidelity in the 90's, she is capable of weathering this loss
with dignity if she wants to.

22. If her screwing around in this pointless campaign loses House seats for the Dems....
(all of whom are up for reelection), the will come after her with pitch-forks and torches.

I think the under-discussed issue of Hillary's divisive madness is the fact that it could harm the chances of Dems who are up for reelection in Congress.
