I'm Bored. Explain To Me Why Hillary Can Still Win.
Seriously. I'm interested in any theoretical possibilities as to how she can still get the Democratic nomination.

3. She Really Cannot
However, by staying in until after Kentucky/Oregon and going lite on Obama, she can "gracefully" drop out and let the race be over. The only REAL way is if she managed to get every remaining superdelegate to go for her.

23. Well, there's a whole list
1) Alien invasion (the bodysnatcher people could invade Barack and make him Dubya's twin).
2) Meteor could land on him while sound asleep in Chicago.
3) Mark Penn could photoshop some really convincing evidence of him doing nefarious things. (sex, drugs, murder, cross-dresser, etc.):P
4) Garin could find a "Plan to Enslave Whitey" that he found from a campaign office dumpster and break the story through Drudge. :scared:
5) He could score a 27 if he tries to bowl again in Kentucky. :scared:

Plus there are thousands I haven't thought of, and THEN you'll be glad Hillary didn't suspend her campaign!

33. an argument that the delegates should vote for her because she will be "ahead" in the popular vote
Edited on Sat May-10-08 10:54 PM by Hamlette
right now, Obama is ahead by 736K. If you add in some figure for the caucus states, he's ahead by 846K.

If you add MI and FL and don't add in some figure for the caucus states, his lead is only 113K

She is expected to win big in WV and KY and he's expected to win OR, MT and SD, though not by as big a margins. She'll pull even with him, again, not counting caucus states and counting FL and MI when you count the states.

So, she's going to count Puerto Rico which expects 900K voters on June 1.

Even though PR can't vote in the election, she will probably need to count them to be leading in the popular vote.

Her argument will be, not voting for her will be like 2000 all over again when the winner of the popular vote didn't get the office.

Problem is, she has to count MI giving Obama zero and she has to count none of the caucus states and she has to count a territory that can't even vote in the general.

49. There's a thread in the Hillgeon mapping it out
- The RNC devastates Obama with relentless attacks over the summer months
- HRC goes to Convention to save the Democrats because Obama has been made unelectable by the RNC attack machine.

That's the plan.
