Poll question: Risking it all for Clinton
It's true that a large number middle-aged and older women support Clinton. Let's take time out for a moment to recognize what these women have done. Below I'm listing just a few - I know the list is long...

Fought for the right to vote
Continue the fight for a fair wage
Fought for respect in the workplace (and to stop sexual harassment)
Fought, in general, for their own independence in life

But one that stands out most in my mind, is the woman's right to choose. The right for control over their own body. And to protect it.

When we talk about coming together to support the Dem nominee, I understand that there are going to be some very upset people. But in the end, I believe that these people - particularly these WOMEN will come together in support. Why? Because they fought too hard for too long for these rights. And we know the next President will be recommending new judges for the SCOTUS. We know where McSame stands on this - and we care too much about our own rights, the rights of our daughters, granddaughters, nieces - even the little girl down the street, to piss it all away on a POS like McSame.

Am I right?

1. I don't quite get the question...
If it's asking if Hillary should be on the ticket with Obama? Then I think that deserves some serious consideration and discussion among party leaders.
If it's that Hillary should be the President? Then no.
And if it's something else, I don't have a clue what you're asking.

4. Absolutely support the Democratic Nominee
And anyone who doesn't cannot be called a liberal in my opinion.

3. Women Don't Think About It
They don't make the connection that a McCain presidency will mean the end of the right to control their bodies.

8. Conflating Issues and Personalities
Hillary has been a beneficiary of the work of the women's movement, but not an active participant in securing the rights she has enjoyed.

9. I believe a joint ticket will bring the Dem party together and is needed for us to win in Nov
I really want the White House to be the Dems.

10. A joint ticket didn't help us last time
Edwards couldn't even carry his own state. While Obama certainly doesn't need Hillary to carry New York, I think he'd be better off finding a VP who can either deliver a particular block of voters in big numbers (like hispanics, hardcore Hillary supporters, moderates), or deliver a big swing state, like Ohio.

11. Just getting the WH is necessary but not sufficient. We still don't have enough
seats in Congress to get things done that should have been done decades ago. If Hillary is on the ticket it will energize the conservatives and ruin our chances in many a swing state. The so-called "unity ticket" would be the road to disaster.

12. The majority of these women who support Hillary are also very much Pro-Choice
They can give up that fight, if they refuse to vote for Obama should he get the nomination.
