For all the attempts to keep the "horse race" going with non-stop negative coverage of Obama, "wondering" if Hillary could minimize Obama's expected win in NC (or even pull an upset victory) and pull off a larger-than-expected victory in IN, it didn't work. Now, just days later, Obama is widely considered the Dem. nominee and people are wondering aloud what Hillary's still doing in the race and how/when she'll get out. GOBAMA-the REAl fighter!

1. I wonder if people just didn't say to themselves, "Well, good god, the
cable news heads are just jabbering like magpies about Obama's preacher, and frankly, I don't go to that church anyway, and our OWN pastor is not exactly 100% right all the time, and we've got economic pressures that far outweigh this dust-up over Rev. Wright."

The media trotted this out and wouldn't shut up about it and I wonder if people just zoned out on the controversy altogether.

Obama weathered it swimmingly, in any case, and he is 44.

I JUST photoshopped a pic of the "HillaryIs44" logo to "ObamaIs44." Do you know how I could get it to show here?

7. Hi, jenmito. I don't know how, no. When I've been stuck on technical
things I usually ask at the Lounge. A lot of classy folks there to start with, and most are very tech-smart and savvy.

21. When the Wright story broke the first time...
(Before the National Press Club thing) I said that both the media and many Hillary supporters totally overplayed their hand with the story. When the press club stuff happened I said they would do it again, and sure enough they did. The backlash was easy to see coming to anyone who had paid attention the first time around, but many Hillary supporters were so desperate to pull Obama down that they couldn't help themselves.

23. Hi, Forkboy. You had it called right, and you had it called early.
You were right on Wright.

The comments made on DU and elsewhere about how the craven media slobbers and growls over a black pastor's intemperate remarks but leets the white fundie nutbags like Robertson and Dobson et al go unchallenged ... well, I'd say that's stil a good question and the media owe us all a better answer than we've gotten so far.

24. And the story is dangerous for McCain as well.
He's saying that it shouldn't be an issue now but not because he's a nice, fair guy, but to cover his own ass and his own pastor story. Surrogates will use it, but Obama surrogates will counter with Hagee. The two candidates themselves will be mostly silent about the other's pastor I suspect.

25. Yes. Agree. It would be disastrous for McCain to try to stir this up
AGAIN.

The media tried to torpedo Obama with Wright and they failed miserably. Out of the controversy, we were given the enormous gift of Obama's speech on race in Philadelphia, not incidentaly the place where the republic was forged. Obama took a barn of rancid straw and spun it into solid gold.

He knows how to handle things, looks like to me.

Hagee is an absolute nutbag. Shithouse rat crazy, or worse.

They needed to be taught a lesson that they arent as powerful as they thought they were.

Hopefully they'll exercise some restraint in the GE.

with car chases, robberies by people of color, rape, murder and NOTHING about the war(s), nothing of value about Congress or the downstream races......

Or the coming failure of our way of life due to the worship of unbridled consumption.....

The closer we get to the GE, the more the coverage will swing back to the niggle and quirks of the candidates, microphone mistakes, shithead reverends, the usual...

Fiddling while Rome burns....

11. We're smarter now. After losing GREAT Candidates due to the MSM smear machine
We say: Not this time!

Ans as a matter of fact, after delivering us into the hands of the worst President in history, they have absolutely no credibility whatsoever. I watch them for entertainment and that's it.

Must be a blow to the Matthews, Russerts, Hannitys and Limbaughs and O'Reillys to see their dead horse flogging over a tangenital issue fall so flat and that they are considered so irrelevant. They earned the contempt.

Recall Russert asking Kucinich about UFOs. Recall George and what's his name asking Obama about flag pins.

Probably didn't move anyone except the same 29% that are immovably right wing anyway.

20. the rush limbah mass media
rush limbah wants to sabatoge the US electoral system (even the freaking tweety mathews condemned the tactic of misusing something like the vote, which patriots have died gaining the right for!) by having dittomites vote for hillary, in order to 'bloody up' Mr Obama, and the mass media is right there with limbah- indeed, rush is their leader! imagine that, following a goof who has warred on the US public interest/welfare for nearly 20 years!

than Rush's ego and NOT a reality that made any difference in the primaries. That's bull. Of COURSE his "dittoheads" went out and voted for Hillary whether the MSM wants to admit it or not.

31. it still disgusts that Tim McVeigh credited the ratwing media
for the inspiration to attack the federal government-had the net been prevalent then, we would have brought that to wider attention. 168 people died thanks to cnn and limbah and the rest. The guilt of the bushmedia for damaging the national interest is the guilt of individuals, who try hide behind the company logo and earn big money lying for fascism; it's they who are rush limbah, only they're mainstream, and they who cost the USA about $5 trillion dollars, at the least, thus far. And the men involved, like sam donaldson, all know it, and are doctoring their resumes to hide the facts, or pretending they retired etc. Woof blitzer started out with 700 club, forchrissakes. bellow reilly comes from 'inside sedition'...

anyone who listens to limbah quickly learns that he's playing a game, using code for all the selfish, stupid racist;/sexist/classist nonsense you got. He passes muster, but only by guys who go along with the fiction, which isn't just a game to some of the denser ones btw. The point is; it's highly unlikely limbah is a natural, 'market forced' phenomenon- after all, who benefits from what he's done? 911 was an inside job, a fx movie shoot costing up to $20 billion, that's fact. And limbah just tiny potatoes to the big fraud, but you can bet junyer bush's left nut that limbah's 'eib' network was a cia/nsa/kkk front job, like AOL, of Langley township, Virginia, and millions of tax dollars (?) kept limbah going over the last 20 years because the ignoranti just aren't that numerous or wealthy. Even jeff christie isn't as blindly ignorant as limbah acts- Iraq will cost us $3 trillion dollars....and 'we' are killers
