Thanks to John McCain -- Hillary can't drop out before Denver
unless Barack is willing to pay off ALL her debts.

May 12 (Bloomberg) -- Hillary Clinton may have a financial incentive to remain in the presidential race for a while. And she has Senator John McCain to thank for it.

Clinton loaned her struggling campaign $11 million in recent months. A little-known provision of a 2002 campaign- finance law cosponsored by McCain prevents candidates who drop out of the race from raising money after the nominating conventions to repay themselves for personal loans.

2. She is loaded.
Hillary can pay off her own campaign debts. She chose to continue when it was very obvious that she could not win-her problem.

3. 2 books ought to take care of it
I by Hill, one by Bill and throw in a few 200k speaking appearances by Bill. If that doesn't do it their pals from Dubai can throw them a party. It's not an issue.

4. Is "dropping out" the same as "suspending"?
Seems like there could be some legalese that would allow her to get around that. There always seems to be some loophole included for those who live by the loophole.

6. It doesn't matter whether she continues campaigning or "suspends"; she has until the Convention...
...to pay off her debt to herself; after that, her self-
repayment is topped at $250,000.

7. She can still suspend her campaign
that's what all the other candidates did this primary season when they 'dropped out'. Suspending their campaign allows them to continue collecting money to pay off debts.
