4. He's either announcing he's running as a Libertarian (dope-smoking free-love Repuke) against McCain
... or else that he is not gay and he loves his wife.

14. He's running for his House seat
As a Republican.

I'm sure Paul is the guy the Libertarians really want. They won't go for Gravel, but I'm sure Barr would appeal to them.

18. Slightly off topic but I always looked at him and saw someone of black ancestry
Edited on Mon May-12-08 10:42 AM by Truth Hurts A Lot
So I finally googled the topic, and it turns out I'm not alone. This guy is unfit to serve in any public capacity because he refuses to acknowledge his own ancestry. Not only that, but he supports racist republican policies! What a delusional, pitiful man.

20. This is fantastic news!
With Obama as our nominee, and most of the rabid right in GA foaming at the mouth with hatred of McCain, Georgia is now officially back in play and stands a good chance of going blue this November.

Suh-wheet!!!!! Can't speak for the rest of the country, but for GA - this is hugh!!!11 I'm series!!!eleven!!111

Barr to announce Libertarian White House bid

By BEN EVANS
The Associated Press
Monday, May 12, 2008; 11:22 AM

WASHINGTON -- Former Republican Rep. Bob Barr has announced that he's running for president as a Libertarian.

His candidacy would be a wild card in the White House race and many believe it would hurt Republican Sen. John McCain.

Barr made the announcement Monday at a news conference. He first must win the Libertarian nomination at the party's national convention that begins May 22. Party officials consider him a front-runner thanks to the national profile he developed as a Georgia congressman from 1995 to 2003.

Barr, 59, helped lead Bill Clinton's impeachment. He quit the Republican Party two years ago, saying he had grown disillusioned with its failure to shrink government and its willingness to scale back civil liberties in fighting terrorism.
