Why Obama Needs Clinton to Stay in the Race (LAT)
Why Obama Needs Clinton to Stay in the Race

The Los Angeles Times notes that the worst thing that could happen to Sen. Barack Obama "now is what so many party members are clamoring for: Hillary Rodham Clinton to drop out."

"Why? Because with her name still on the ballots, she'd be very likely to win in West Virginia anyway. And maybe Kentucky too, given the demographics in both places. And possibly Puerto Rico as well."

"How would that look if at the end of the Democratic race the winning candidate with clearly the most delegates and popular votes went down to defeat against a candidate who isn't in the contest anymore? Ouch! That would tend to overshadow his expected wins in Oregon and Montana."

1. Yes, and Hillary can carry Puerto Rico in the general election too!!
or maybe not, since they have no electoral votes.

8. Not more embarassing then the Clinton campaign has been to date......
I mean, dividing folks by "types" the way the Clintons have been doing is what is shameful and harmful to the party, and by extension, to America.

My heart breaks everytime the Clinton say dumbshit about who votes for whom....which is why Hillary Clinton has embarrased herself much more than anything else that could ever happen.

When I look at my daughters in their face, and if I happen to think about all that Hillary has done to separate us, it hurts me just a little bit more each time. It is an experience that I shall not soon forget. I was always willing to give Hillary a fair hearing, and in fact I did. But her words and actions have destroyed any respect that I ever had for her. Sadly. :(

4. I agree - she should stay in the race

The primary season will end in a few weeks anyway. Let her finish it out.

And I was thinking the same thing about WV. It would look pretty bad if Obama were the only candidate left and lost both WV and KY. That would be very embarrassing, even though he stands little chance in those two states.

Besides, the longer Hillary stays in (and continues to hang herself with her own rope), the longer Obama gets the attention, as McCain is virtually invisible.

5. embarassing?
like getting 55% of the vote in Michigan against.....'no selection'?

DK urged his supporters to not vote for him because HE DIDN'T GET HIS NAME OFF THE BALLOT IN TIME!

HRCrew can't seem to keep up with all the BS her campaign has had to crank out just to keep 'ahead' of their self-designed political realities...

7. Another reason for regional primaries..
3 or 4 regional primaries.. run in Feb, Mar & April.. No ONE state overshadows any other..

1st round ..winner 50%, 2nd 25%, all others share remaining 25%

2nd round... winner 60%, 2nd 25%, others share 15%

3rd round...winner 70%, 2nd 25%, others share 5%

NO SUPERS..
