She probably developed a bit of a twang when she was in Arkansas, and it probably comes back when she's around people who are talking that way. I have never lived in the South but find myself talking a little bit like a Southerner if I'm around people with Southern accents for a period of time. So it's probably natural to some degree, and most politicians play up or play down an accent depending on the group.
