Second thread I started ever: Probably discussed before Chuck Hagel for VP?
Vietnam vet, progressive to moderate REPUBLICAN, against war in Iraq, can address vets, white working men and women in all Red states.

I didn't think this up on my own, Chris Matthews just interviewed two consultants who think Hagel with be a winning ticket with Obama.

Now, don't bash me or Hagel too hard. Tell me why this isn't a good idea.

And Virginia has a Democratic Governor so Webb's replacement woould be a Democrat, too.

If not for the Pro-Life thing, I think Hagel is a great choice. And he's a terrific guy - just the sort of person Obama is attracting from the right.
