80-20???
Local politicians in West Virginia are claiming Hillary may actually win WV 80-20 over Obama.

(snip)

"At a campaign stop in Logan, W.Va., Clinton was introduced by state Senate Majority Leader H. Truman Chafin, who talked about Clinton carrying the state 80 percent to 20 percent, or even 90-10.

"You think this crowd's noisy, just wait till we win like 80-20," Chafin said."

Story notes that Obama has also begun to wear a flag pin on his lapel. Sad the things you have to do to campaign effectively in places like West Virginia.

23. At least 21%, maybe even a couple percent more
But then, he's the Great One, and the Democratic Party doesn't care what West Virginians think anyway.

It's all about the Great One's "charisma".

Or is it his connivery?

2. Probably won't be that wide a margin. I'm predicting 65-35.
Obama wore a flag pin today when talking forthrightly about Veterans issue. Good for him. :patriot:

7. Yeah, probably around 65-35. With all respect, some WVers need to do more research.

19. Flag Pin
Well, I thought the comments he made in defense of not wearing the pins were right on the money. I actually think it's somewhat dispiriting that he feels he has to wear one in WV otherwise people there will continue to think he's unpatriotic.

28. He was speaking to a group of veterans, and I found it appropriate in the setting.
What's great about Obama is that he's not going to let anyone tell him when and where and how to show his patriotism. He'll choose to wear a flag pin if and when he feels it is suitable to the occassion, and somehow rises to it, and that really doesn't make him a hypocrite, no matter how much shrieking we'll endure from the Malkin Crowd on it. :-)

17. Anything at all is a failure for Clinton.
She has lost and no number of votes in WV is going to change that.

4. It really doesn't make one hell of allot of difference how much she wins by...
It will do nothing to change the outcome of the nomination. This thing is over and has been since NC at the latest.

20. and he would be in the white house now
had he won WV. That is a state we used to win routinely. It has had Democratic Senators since the earth cooled. It has had a Democratic governor for all but a couple of years in the past decades.

11. She could win 99-1
and she's not getting the nomination. Obama has this all but wrapped up.

I fully support the idea of letting every vote but Clinton really has no shot of winning this nod. The SDs are going to come around for Obama.

on Monday so any GOTV that could have been produced by that will obviously not materialize.

Edited on Mon May-12-08 08:42 PM by FARAFIELD
79% would only get her 22-6 (not quite 4-1) he got a 5-1 for winning Idaho. OUCH!
