Obama is weak on the Soviets
I just don't see him putting much pressure on them. We have to consider the security of our allies in Berlin, it's too risky to have a president who needs training wheels. If it was up to him he'd have direct meetings with Brezhnev and I just think it's capitulation to meet one on one with our worst enemy when they have yet to renounce there invasion of Afghanistan. And with Danny Ortega back in power in Nicaragua, there is a pretty good chance the Soviet tanks could be on our Southwest border in like a day or two if the Soviets chose to mobilize them.

That's something we have to consider. I'm just saying.

Republicans savage Obama over 'bomb Pakistan' threat
By Tim Reid
Monday August 06 2007

REPUBLICAN candidates for the White House formed an unlikely alliance with Hillary Clinton yesterday when they branded Barack Obama reckless for suggesting he might bomb Pakistan.

"He's gone from Jane Fonda to Dr Strangelove in one week," said Mitt Romney, to applause, during a Republican debate in Des Moines, Iowa. "He went from saying he's going to sit down for tea with our enemies but then he's going to bomb our allies."

Drone-fired missile kills al-Qaida leader
By The Associated Press and The New York Times/Friday, February 1, 2008

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — The killing this week of one of al-Qaida's top commanders by a missile from a U.S. Predator drone aircraft could signal an escalation in U.S. covert action aimed at killing terrorist leaders and dismantling their networks in the tribal areas.

23. that's all fine and dandy, but what's his Soviet policy?
As far as I know, he doesn't have one. He doesn't even acknowledge they're a threat, we can't afford that type of naivete in the White House. The Wetzelbill/Kurovski candidacy are the only ones on top of this issue. Last week Premier Kruschev veritably endorsed Obama. Well good for him, but Wetzelbill is the Soviets worst nightmare.

43. Show me the policy *you* like
First, I note that people with an ax to grind just ask questions like, "what's his/her policy"?

You can look it up, just like the rest of us. In case you're unfamiliar with how elections work, a lot of policy details get fleshed out during the general election, when the candidates increase their staff.

If you think that's some kind of "out," please prove your point by providing us with the more detailed policy of another candidate. If you can't do that, you're just spouting.

But, to help provide you with some information you could have just looked up yourself, here ya go..

Where McCain wants to kick the Russians out of the G8 and basically restart the Cold War, here are a few things Obama has done and plans to do:

Encouraging dialogue is a hallmark of Senator Obama's perspective on American foreign policy. Accordingly, he has been the most outspoken candidate on working together with Russia to drastically reduce the two powers' nuclear stockpiles. This vision of nuclear abolition, which Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev nearly negotiated at Reykjavik in 1986, has more recently been supported by luminaries of both parties including Henry Kissinger, George Schultz, and Sam Nunn. Senator Obama has traveled to Russia with Sen. Richard Lugar (R-IN) to advance the goals of the Cooperative Threat Reduction program and authored legislation with Lugar subsequent to their visit to control the spread of nuclear weapons from the former Soviet Union.

Senator Obama has also suggested a full evaluation of the benefits of a missile defense system before rushing toward deployment. Although he has not stated opposition to the program in principle, he appears sensitive to concerns about this program among our Western European allies. Senator Obama's top Russian adviser, Michael McFaul, is well respected for his scholarship on democratization, and U.S.-Russian relations, in particular.

you are aware that this isn't a serious thread? See I play a dense but lovable empty suit who is running for president. My gay, yet ruthless, VP is a DUer named Kurovski, who is the real power behind the throne. I periodically create moronic threads like this, which are my supposed policy positions.

Here is where it all began, so this might fill you in.

Well, Mr. Drunk-and-lying-in-a-ditch, we've yet to hear anything from your campaign about Robots. How are we supposed to believe that you have any chance at all in the GE when you won't give us your plan for the most-cited concern of elderly voters: robots who eat old people's medicine for fuel?

Will you call for universal robot insurance? Will your plan have mandates? Will it truly cover everyone? You and I both know that the American people deserve the best quality robot insurance we can provide--every senior should have access to the same coverage that Dick Cheney has.

Please, won't someone think of the old people!?!?

Edited on Tue May-13-08 05:32 AM by Wetzelbill
In fact, I was just reading a paper he gave me the other day on robots. I'll have to look, I'm sure I have a position on it, I'm just not sure what it is, I'll have to look. I'll get bicentennial_baby (my Rove) to look it up and she'll tell me what my position on robots are. I know I have one. But no, I think the only way to prevent robotic diseases is abstinence, that sounds like something I'm for, I'll probably have to have somebody look it up, I think I'm for that though. If the president's policy is for it, I'm for it. I'll get Dr. Coburn's paper. And have my staff tell me my position. Hamas endorsed Obama. Just thought you'd want to know that. Then we bomb them back to the Stone Age.

I never got into the "Change" thing, I just went with "Balls". In fact, James Carville actually borrowed one of mine to give to Hillary who then gave it to Obama. I still have like ten. I probably should get that checked out, that can't be right. I lived under powerlines as a kid.

Sid Vicious the singer or Sid Vicious the pro wrestler? Because I refuse to negotiate with anybody who would blindside Hulk Hogan. He'd have to renounce that.

71. Well, in international relations I think it best to be able to offer in-kind...
Obama could take Putin on 'the court' and as MO's brother feels, 'Discover the measure of the man' well...who knows from 'man' but Putin is my point. And Putin could whisk Obama off to a Siberian gulag mere weeks after pinching off natural gas to what used to be his toy states; and illustrate KGB-style black belt take-down judo, after touring a snazzy display of irradiated poisons. You know, stuff less found in the *We're Bearish On Russian Tourism* brochure

A New World Order platform should contain the same ole give & take.

90. I'm glad you asked that. He has no plan, however
The Wetzelbill/Kurovski plan is to create this giant defense shield, that is in no way practical, cost-effective or even beyond a remote fantasy. This "shield" will protect you from anything and everything that might attack America, even the Red Coats. It will specifically block musket fire, and has the added benefit of enriching my cronies with big contracts. I will call it: "Vic Mackey."

Once again it is time for my Mongel Horde to go sweeping west towards the Urals. The Soviets have become weak and complacent. Ripe for plunder. Let the spirit of Khan ride again until we reach the shores of the black sea, where, inevitably, one of my own will screw me and stab me in the back. I wont see it coming, as usual.

119. Sure, but I should warn you
my chaotic nature makes me capracious, undependable and prone to bouts of rage and/or depression. Usually when that happens I behead a pantalooned royal of some random, local principality. Sometimes that doesn't go over very well at fund-raisers.

We also demand that you find a way to make heavy, square shaped, pelt-clad women and tundra an attractive tourist alternative to warm, sandy beaches
