A thread for Obama supporters on West Virginia Day
It's all good people. Dont let the non stop coverage of the meaningless WV Primary get you down today. West Virginia has 28 delegates up for grabs today and even if Hillary wins by 30 WHOLE POINTS, she'll get 18 and Obama will get 10 delegates, thus netting her 8 delegates into Obama's 150-160 point delegate lead.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080512/ap_on_el_ge/delegate_math

Superdelegates put Obama within mathematical reach
WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's wave of superdelegate endorsements puts him within reach of the Democratic presidential nomination by the end of the primary season on June 3 — even if he loses half of the remaining six contests.
The Illinois senator has picked up 26 superdelegates in the past week. At that pace, he will reach the number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination — 2,025 — in the next three weeks, when delegates from the remaining primaries are included.

I submit the following for your enjoyment:

A friend called to make sure I heard it!
Don't know if it is wishful thinking or not, but 15 pts. would
be such great news!

4. Hillary's not winning anything today in the real world
But the future McCain voters of WV will prolong her delusional state of denial for a little while longer.

5. Here's a great story in today's WV Gazette! Woman Who Once Fed JFK Now Cooks for Obama Team

Woman who once fed JFK now cooks for Obama team

Workers at Barack Obama's headquarters on Quarrier Street would elect Delores Smith the most popular volunteer. She feeds them.

By Sandy Wells
Staff writer

Workers at Barack Obama's headquarters on Quarrier Street would elect Delores Smith the most popular volunteer.

She feeds them.

The other day, she fed them tons of fried chicken, 10 pounds of potato salad and enough corn bread to feed the proverbial army.

This isn't Smith's first experience with campaign cooking. In 1960, she fed future President John F. Kennedy.

She worked then for Gene Fredericks, a Democratic Party leader. He accompanied Kennedy on a campaign swing to Cabin Creek, then invited him home for dinner.

Kennedy asked for old-fashioned Southern cooking.

She fed him roast beef, navy beans and her famous cornbread.

7. It's the HOPE in that young boy's face...(3rd photo)
I wish the Obama campaign could use the photo.....it is exceptionally expressive (generational) glance into the hopes of this country.

10. Quite a bit nicer than the alternative.

When I see pictures like this, the reasons why this woman is losing the hearts and minds of the nation are apparent. Just look at the hostility, the anger, the contempt. Photos of Barack, on the other hand tend to inspire hope. A feeling that we can at last turn this country around. We need a genuine leader now more than ever, and I believe Barack Obama will do nicely.

I'm amused that a small, relatively red state (in pres elections) now counts!
Whatever. Hill will win by a big margin, but Obama has taken several states by 20 or more points, many more than Hill has.

22. Thank you! He has this very appealing quality to me........
Most of the time he looks so dignified and presidential, but he also has this side of him that looks like he's just having as much fun as any kid I've ever seen. I like that about him.

21. Thanks for posting this
I was curious as to what the delegate numbers and breakdown might be.

Just the superdelegates that Obama has picked up in the past few days nearly erases any gains Hillary might receive tonight. And Obama will pick up a few more delegates even if he loses by a wide margin putting him closer to the prize.

:bounce:
