A Simple Question for Clinton Supporters
Where was this tenacious campaigning in 2000 and 2004? Where were these Clinton people like Wolfson and MacAuliffe when Gore and Kerry really needed their help? Where were they during the 2000 recount?

1. 2004 - Bill Clinton fresh from open heart surgery campaigned hard for Kerry.
2000 - Gore distanced himself from Clinton.

2. Yup
Just another Obama fan lie that they spread. They're so consumed with hate that the truth is entirely irrelevant to them.

Did you see the other thread where Stephanie Tubbs-Jones, a leading member of the Progresive Caucus, is called a "neocon shill" because she supports Clinton?

This site has become more hateful than FreeRepublic ever was. It's disgusting.

Clinton's surgery was the 6th of Sept, he was released from the hospital on the 10th and some time around Oct 19 (more like the 25th) he did begin to campaign for Kerry - the election was on the 2nd of November 2004.

Before that he was doing his book tour, he had released his memoir "My Life" around June 21, 2004.

Link has a collection of articles on his surgery - of note is this language in one of the articles, even back in 2004

Hillary Clinton is gearing up for a 2006 re-election bid seen by many as a prelude to a run for president in 2008 should John Kerry fail in his bid for the White House this year.

18. So you're complaining that
he should've campaigned earlier? The fact is, it's a fucking lie that he didn't campaign for Kerry. It's an Obama fan lie that's been disproved again and again, and yet it's still spread. Why would somebody repeatedly lie when they KNOW it's a lie? I don't get it. It's a sign of mental illness.

21. As you can see from my post, I acknowledge he campaigned
I point out that you and others exaggerate his involvement, try to make him some type of martyr. My post, as opposed to others, is factual. It would appear that in the last 8 days of the campaign Clinton did make a few appearances for Kerry (from Oct 25 until Nov 2 2004). The first time Bill campaigned for Kerry in Arkansas was October 31. For some, that is not much campaigning and they may view it as basically no campaigning at all given the needs in 2004. As I posted in this thread, some believe the release of his memoir and the book tours were done to distract from the Kerry campaign, for all of those book tours did he use any to support Kerry's efforts? No.

Additionally, it would appear Bill did give Kerry advice during the campaign. According the the Kerry/Edwards campaign, Bill's sage advice during the campaign was to fore sake the gay rights agenda, to drop it.

It is not a lie, it is a matter of perspective. How much campaigning was it to go public a few days before the election? For some, the little effort was not enough, too little, too late.

Your constant name calling and false outrage is tiresome. You are as dishonest as you claim others to be.

9. Oh, I almost forgot
Bill did tell Kerry during Kerry's 2004 campaign he should reject gay rights as an issue.

Do you know what we're dealing with? People are using death threats and racial insults on Hillaryis44.com and people have been banned on here repeatedly for racist behavior.

I've been called a N Lover in my canvassing in North Carolina.

Save your self indignation for someone other board.

3. Give Bill credit, he could have done squat and been right. But where were.....
the party leaders who should have contested the vote in 2004? Weak is a word that comes to mind, but verbose when nothing real impt. is on the line.

doing that and, as the AP pointed out in a article about Bill's heart issues:

Hillary Clinton is gearing up for a 2006 re-election bid seen by many as a prelude to a run for president in 2008 should John Kerry fail in his bid for the White House this year.

6. Clinton was busy pushing his newly published Memoir
Edited on Tue May-13-08 08:54 PM by merh
(released June 2004) - book tours and television appearances about his book. (It is said he was stealing the thunder from Kerry's campaign - he was getting more news coverage than the Kerry/Edwards campaign was getting.)

In the middle of Oct 2004 (some time around the 19th of Oct - erm more like the 25th) Clinton did campaign for Kerry - (surgery was on Sept 6 and he was released around the 10th of September) -- the election was on Tuesday, November 2, 2004

11. It is these days, they make the patient get up and start doing things
almost immediately - the surgery actually gives them more energy because the blood is flowing as it should, bringing oxygen to all organs.

And making a few appearances around October 25 was not campaigning as they are doing now.

Before that he was busy with book signing - he released his memoir in June 2004.

16. Hillary draws tough supporters to her by being tough and sticking it out
Kerry was never inspiring like she is. He was a good policy guy, but not inspiring.
