Poll question: Was that one of the greatest speeches in history?
Of course, I'm biased, but what does DU think? Was HRC's speech one of the greatest ever?

24. It WOULD have been a great speech except for one thing went wrong....
.....the guy that was supposed to score enough pot to vent through the ventilation shafts to give the speech the extra little kick was got so stoned he forget to open the HVAC intakes beside the barbeque grill full of weed.

30. I know.
I heard it was less than thrilling. It depends what time I get home later, I may catch it on the replays. I am at work now and then going to get some drinks. I am not going to ruin my night out by trying to get home and watch her speak.

18. Ad Clintonum...
You can't declare a speech as the greatest ever before the speech, and you yourself (or your surrogates) cannot claim it is. MLK was not clammering his Dream speech was great. Lincoln wasn't gushing about the Gettysburg Address. jesus christ... I got a new term for doing this shit-- Ad Clintonum... It means your speech automatically sucks.

26. "It was ok. Not great, not awful."
It wasn't bad at all, but McAuliffe oversold it. He's a pretty savvy guy, so I don't know why he did that. If he had just let it come out of nowhere, and let it been a surprise, I think it would have been much better received. You're supposed to *lower* expectations, not raise them.

27. Yeah. I think the tactic was just to try to get people to tune in.
Of course, that's only half the battle. She didn't deliver the the kind of speech that might make one rethink their position.
